Hello to all:

I am new to X-Plane and very new to the B737-300.

I have a puzzling problem that I am unable to diagnose. I have searched the forum and I apologize if I missed an existing response.

The issue is the IAS. After take off, with the aircraft fully cleaned (and confirmed externally) the speed tape shows red, above 227 kts, regardless of the altitude.

VNAV will not exceed that speed. any stting of A/P will not exceed it either and sometimes, I manage to manually increase the speed.

Invariably, the IAS window will revert to 227 KTS with the flashing symbol in front and the aircraft will slow down if going any faster. As a matter of fact, the flashing symbol does not stop, regardless of the speed I select.

My system is:

Windows 7 Pro 64 bit (with all required updates)

GeForce GTX780 graphic card

I have a number of GoFlight modules. Only the MCP and TQ6-ADV Throttle Quadrant, are mapped to X-Plane.

One throttle lever is mapped to all throttles.

I have a few other add-ons (PMDG DC-6 and FlightFactor B757, that are operating OK.

Any help and guidance are greatly appreciated.

Regards to all

Roberto

Hi:

Thank you for the prompt response!

Yes, I am aware of the system trying to protect itself.

I am using the GoFlight TQ6-ADV throttle quadrant and I map its flap lever to flaps. Both internally and on the external view, they appear to work "perfectly", as they do in the other add ons.

Regards,

Roberto

PS Should I try to reproduce the issue without any assignments to the flaps and report back?

xplane default flap axis does not support nullzone setting, so when you close your flap hardware lever, the xplane flap axis may still be as tiny as 0.00001% open. You will not notice it under the cockpit flaps indicator, neither on the flaps handler on the pedestal, neither on a external view. But A/T (auto throttle) will notice them and protect the aircraft from overspeeding.

Also take into account desktop cheap hardware potentiometers tend to send spike signals to the simulator no matter you are not touching them at all. So even if you manage to get them fully closed by pushing the lever couple of times, they may deploy from nowhere time to time.

I also have the Goflight TQ6ADV, i used to have a saitek TQM. I know what i am talking about. You have 2 main options here:

1. Do not map the flap lever, and wait until xplane support nullzone setting and improves flaps / speedbrake management via desktop level user hardware. Map keys or buttons instead to one notch flap down, one notch flap up.

2. You can try "flap axis detent" script to overcome this issues http://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?/files/file/30886-flap-axis-detent/

Hi mmerelles:

I can confirm what you have said.

I deleted the map to the flaps, and now there is no restriction.

While I don't understand why it works with the other add ons and not with this one, I will just delete the mapping when I fly the B737-300.

Thanks a lot for your help.

Many regards,

Roberto
