Airace Posted September 30, 2010 Report Posted September 30, 2010 Hi, As I'm new to X-Plane I am still learning where all the files go! I have downloaded some freeware scenery but don't know where to install it to or set up? One folder for example has 3 folders within,(Earth Nav Data,Objects and TerrainTextures). Do I place this entire folder into "Custom Scenery" and that's it? Thanks for any info! Quote
Kaphias Posted September 30, 2010 Report Posted September 30, 2010 You're correct, the entire folder goes straight into Custom Scenery. Do make sure, however, that the file line up as so- Custom Scenery>Scenery name>Earth Nav Data. Some sceneries, when extracted, have an extra "Scenery name" folder, so be sure that the package's "Earth Nav Data" is second after clicking on your downloaded package. Quote
Airace Posted September 30, 2010 Author Report Posted September 30, 2010 Ok thanks for that info! I got them installed ok except for "VNLK Lukla" where the runway is tilted sideways at about 30*. I am using the latest update so maybe this scenery is not compatible with this version?I've taken a pic. Quote
MaidenFan Posted September 30, 2010 Report Posted September 30, 2010 In the rendering options menu, turn off "runways follow terrain" Quote

scubajuan Posted October 1, 2010 Report Posted October 1, 2010 here is another scenery of Lukla VNLK Lukla http://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?app=downloads&showfile=5885 that is ok to use with the runway follows terrain option on, you do want that option on at VNLK since the slope of the runway helps a great deal to stop in such a short runway Quote
Airace Posted October 1, 2010 Author Report Posted October 1, 2010 "Scubajuan",thanks for that link mate!Really appreciated as I enjoy using this airfiled complete with sloping runway which I find challenging! Quote
