  1. Saso: Aha! Now this is interesting. I have no hardware whatsoever that should affect that dataref. However I have had a similar problem with the LES SAAB and the G530 that was solved by manually turning the dataref on. Just wondering if there's something in common (Gizmo?) between the two planes that somehow farkles that particular dataref? In the meantime, I'll try flipping the DR manually to see if it fixes the MFD. I've got a couple other questions about other hardware (Brunner and RealSimGear) to ask. Mind if I contact you directly?   2. I get the problems still. However, reloading aircraft and art universally fixes it. Very annoying, though.
  3. Sigh. And it's your other plane (another stone-cold masterpiece) that has the nice feature, so you of all people should see the need. I could also disable XPRealistic, so my camera doesn't move slightly. I could buy a bigger monitor and a higher-res mouse. I could learn Swedish and curse in two languages when I miss the click-spot, as far as that goes. It's an annoyance. Maybe not a big one, but an annoyance all the same, in what is the most obsessively-designed (And rendered) model I've ever flown. You're already nitpicking the AA on the synthetic vision, and coding your own navaid reception, and doing a million other obsessive things. As an obsessive, I'm asking other obsessives for just one more obsessive feature. (Biting my nails obsessively) Marshall (Or Sven, in Swedish)
  4. For illustration of the necessity, look at Helipilot7's videos. The guy knows his way around aircraft, but using the G1000's knobs with XP's zooming enabled makes even a sure-handed pilot look clumsy.
  5. Please ask him to. It's one of the little things that makes the LES SAAB more usable. In fact I'm utterly floored that everyone doesn't offer such an obvious and basic usability option. (Then again, nothing surprises me anymore.)
  6. I'm less concerned about any replacement key combo for the scrolling as I am in being able to simply disable it.
  7. Goran, Toto, As Goran knows, this is a compelling option on the LES 340A and would be most welcome on the TBM. There's nothing more annoying than slightly overshooting a click-spot and zooming instead of scrolling. Best, Marshall

  10. I have not yet deleted my entire output folder, but I have discovered another workaround, and it may be helpful diagnostically. Reloading the plane and art fixes the problem for me--which I'm beginning to think has something to do with load-order or synchronization with XP's underlying G1000 code as it loads or perhaps as it's invoked by the TBM. It's just my dumbass gut instinct. The reload even fixes a corrupted PFD/MFD once it's happened, but it also seems to prevent it if done BEFORE flipping on the batteries on the TBM. Still broken, but now at least fixable. I'll also try the output folder fix and report back. Best, Marshall

  12. I did. And rolled it back one. I’m a former OS and newsroom computer system beta tester, so I’ve seen weird. But it’s an ambitious piece of software, with many interactions. This is bound to happen sooner or later. BTW, the computer is pretty vanilla. Nvidia, intel 8700 and windows 10. The G1000 on the stock Cessna works fine
  13. Yup. And reloaded the plane. And loaded new airframes. And done all the superstitious stuff. At first it seemed I could reproduce the problem by switching on battery power before the standby instruments were fully loaded, and curing it by waiting. Turned out to be random chance. It even happens in the tutorial, on a virgin install
  14. Hi Goran, I certainly appreciate your 11.31 nightmare. Did as you asked. Squeaky-clean XP install. Zero plug-ins. Then just my Brunner yoke plug-in. The problem manifested itself after several successful flights both clean and with the Brunner. Then, after having totally, utterly and properly shut down the plane, I restarted XP, only to have the TBM come up with the panel lit up and the Garmin broken. I promptly deleted the yoke plugin, removed and reinstalled the TBM, but the problem persisted. Therefore I'm attaching three log.txt files. One is clean and working. The second is yoke plugin and busted. The third is, again, clean, reinstalled aircraft but still kaput. Best, Marshall Log_Working_Clean.txt Log_Broken_Yoke_Only.txt Log_Broken_Clean.txt
  15. This is serious stuff. Why no reply from Goran or Saso? Understanding you're scrambling to deal with the CTD with 11.31, but this is a showstopper, too.
  16. Hiya Toto, XP 11.31 Windows 10 TBM 1.14b SYMPTOM: MFD map doesn't appear. PFD map insets are corrupted--Screenshot attached. DIAGNOSIS: Checking my TBM900_Log.txt (also attached) reveals lines along this pattern: 2019-02-03 22:15:35 TBM900[navaiddb.c:512]: Error parsing C:\Users\marsh\Desktop\X-Plane 11\\Custom Scenery\Global Airports\Earth nav data\earth_nav.dat: malformed data on line 1051 WORKAROUND: Deleting the Global Airports folder, pulling a fresh one with XP installer, removing and reinstalling the TBM, fixes the problem. Until it recurs. Any ideas? Oh, and the plane CTDs when accessing the FPL, but I know this is a known bug and is being worked on. Otherwise (seriously) I'm truly impressed. It's an amazing beast.   17. Hello, Toto and congrats on this remarkable machine! I'm interested in using it with a Brunner CLS yoke. Brunner recommends editing planes in Planemaker to zero-out the trims controlled by the yoke--so that trimming the yoke does not also input elevator and aileron movement, I suppose, but I'm no expert. Doing that, and using a yoke profile on Brunner's cloud, results in hellaciously heavy control forces. So much so they cannot possibly be real. So that leaves me wondering, how to design a profile that's as realistic to the TBM's behavior as possible? And what, if any, changes in Planemaker are required? I'd be grateful for any advice. I'd even be happy to send you a yoke for awhile, if you'd be inclined to better integrate the two. Best, Marshall Arbitman

  19. The solution, I believe mentioned elsewhere, is to get dataref editor; install it; open it; go to the entry (if memory serves—I’m away from my rig) sim/cockpit/electrical/avionics_on= and change the =0 to =1. this must be done every session. Hope it helps. Best, Marshall .
  20. As a longtime Mighty SAAB driver, but also a sometimes P3D user, I looked with at least a bit of interest on Carenado's new 340A for P3d. And, full disclosure, I'm a fan of many of Dan and Joe's X-Plane efforts, grumpy as Dan can be. So, given all that, just for yucks, even knowing that Carenado's non-XP planes have a somewhat patchy reputation, I tried the P3D 340A. Bottom line, no one here should lose any sleep over it. No one. Really. Truly. Now, Laminar, fix the ground-handling! And LES, keep up the superior work on this soulful airplane! Best, Marshall
  21. Well, well, well! This is just plain weird. I did as you said and duplicated the IXEG profile and used it. No problems! But then I figured it was working because hydraulics was enabled, as for the 737. So I disabled that. And it still worked. Then I one-by-one duplicated all the previous force settings from the "defective" Saab profile. And guess what? It still worked fine! An utter puzzlement. In any case, perhaps Jim and Goran ought disregard parts of my orginal post. I'll continue to investigate and remain baffled. Any ideas Mister Merelles? Oh, and could you share your Saab yoke profile with me when you get around to creating it? I suspect you have a few more RW flight hours than I. Best, marshall
  22. Jim and Goran, Again with the understanding that this is not an XP11 airplane yet, here might be another few items to come to grips with as the port progresses: Altitude does not acquire. The FD displays a nose-down cue. The AP pitches *most* of the way down, but not enough. The airplane keeps slowly climbing, or descending, as the case may be. Also, and this may be yoke-related (Brunner CLS-E, using their X-Plane plugin): The AP oscillates in the roll axis, gradually building, until it's necessary to disconnect the servos. I've tried this using a mouse yoke and the problem goes away. I only mention it because a high-end yoke and high-end aircraft ought to work well together and the Brunner works flawlessly with other aircraft, including the IXEG. This suggests that it's not some odd quirk of Gizmo, becasue the IXEG uses it, too. I of course could be wrong here; just something you might want to be aware of. I'll raise it with Brunner when they return from Summer vacation. Additionally, the ALT hold command only sporadically illuminates and rarely works. Finally you might (MIGHT ) want to revisit the ground effect. It has very little. Then again, the real one ain't exactly the Gimli Glider, is it now? And just to reiterate, I'm passing this on with the full and complete knowledge the plane is not fully XP11 compatible. I hope readers don't think otherwise and doubt your product because of it. I understand why you might be reluctant to even permit the use of it on the new platform. That said, I'm glad you have. When the AP became untenable for me last night, I still managed to fly an ILS approach down to mins at KMRY, including the procedure turn. It went perfectly and was a pleasure to hand-fly. Greg, As regards XEnviro, it does a few key things in addition to rendering the sky as nicely as I've ever seen in XP, even when compared against the skies I normally see around my part of the country: 1) It sometimes produces vicious, abrupt windshear. Perhaps that's what trashed your flaps. 2) It apparently dances all over some under-the-hood bits and pieces of the sim, which means it's not shocking it should be a crash-magnet. Sigh. That said, my real challenge in this magnificent plane is to come to grips with its tendency to fall out of the sky on approach and landing. It's so easy to get behind the energy curve on it. Fun!
