Help New To X Plane

I am new to x plane I have loaded it I have more than enough hard drive space it wont work even in lowest graphics mode. I figure I need a after market graphics card. I am asking for advice on what to get. Im still using flight sym 2004 anyone that can help would be greatly appreciated

Need to know PC specs. Wouldnt go less than a GTX 1070 8 gig vram, 16 gig ram, and prefer Intel to AMD CPU because of single tread performance. CPU speed is all important, 3.5 Gig min most over clock to 4.5 or more gets best performance. Could just post log from Xplane folder.
