The other difference I find is that AA looks much better with HDR enabled (4x SSAA+FXAA) vs HDR disabled (16x extreme) full screen 1920x1200 on a GTX 680.

 

EDIT:  Curiously 8x AA with HDR disabled looks better than 16x.

Perhaps I should add the differences at night time. The lighting is dramatically better at night with HDR on.
