  1. Hi Jan,

I just completed a successful flight (KLAS-KLAX @ FL240) with no pitch problems, using VS to initiate and modify FPM when needed to maintain the proper glide, so that seems to be the key/best way to manage descent....which is basically the same way I do it in XP11.  Roger that about FLCH!

    Thanks,
    Jim

  2. Hi Jan,

The winds stayed pretty consistent as I recall.  When I initiated the descent, the plane dove at over 4000 FPM while rocking up and down, then slowly adjusted to the VS value set in the MCP.

I hope you will have the same situations happen when you do those flights!

    Thanks,
    Jim

  3. Hi Jan,

Nose/plane rocking up and down severely, immediately upon initiating descent by VS (also with FLCH).  The plane did descend, though.  VNAV descent is still not working right for me.
Real weather, 290 knots, 107.7 lbs, CG 22.1.  I haven't had a chance to do another flight today to provide pics/vid.

Something else I forgot about my initial flight KLAX-KLAS --> RNDRZ2 arrival to ILS 26L.  At HOGOG, for the ils, the plane stayed on 083 heading and did not turn left to KODSE 020, nor left again at HUXAR 259 degrees.  I went to HDG mode and tried to turn, to no avail, so I had to disconnect the AP and fly it manually.

Second flight KLAS-KLAX the straight in approach to 24R was ok...no 180 turn needed.

You may want to run those two test flights yourself: KLAX-OSHNN1 MISEN RNDRZ2 ILS26L KLAS, and KLAS-RADYR2 BLAQQ SHTNR ANJLL4 ILS24R KLAX.  FL250 eastbound, FL240 westbound, real weather.

    Thanks,
    Jim

  4. Hi Cameron - this has always been one of my favorite planes, and I know a lot has changed with XP12.  I was wondering if anyone else has reported the problem I mentioned during descent using VS/FLC?  I know this is the initial release for this platform, and as such, has a few bugs to be squashed! ;)

    Thanks!

  5. Hi All - after 2 full flights, I have encountered the problem both times of extreme porpoising when engaging either VS or FLCH during descent.  VNAV descent is still not what it should be.  Has anyone else encountered this problem?  That is the main problem I'm having....other than that, it's good to have her in XP12.  Also, looking forward to improvements/bug fixes listed, and being able to load the plane and get CG from the menu, and NOT to have to use XP's W&B menu!

Thanks for bringing this bird to XP12!

  6. Hi TomK - for me, it's been all about the altitude restrictions.  If it says 18000A, it causes an extreme delay in descent for getting on glide.  If I code it to 18000, it tended to work better with the older version and stayed on glide a lot better after changing all Above to the specified altitude instead.  I've made a couple of flights since updating to 1.31, and it hasn't worked as well-->had to use VS to get to different altitudes necessary to get her back on terra firma, alternating with VNAV.

Best of luck with re-coding all this!

  7. Hi Jan -

I've tried activating the AP immediately upon takeoff then hitting LNAV and VNAV, and it seems to do better...past couple of flights have gone OK.  With VNAV, I've found that if an attitude is listed as 20000A, the plane will not descend unless I change it to /20000, and do it for all "A" restrictions listed, the plane will recalculate to hit those altitudes on descent to follow the profile correctly....more testing/flights to come!

    Thanks,
    Jim

I have noticed this doing some flight controls settings with a script. The only way to end this was to disable AP, move the trim with (in my case) the joystick, and reengage AP.

It must be that unusual "clicks" trigger a bug.

Do you use other input besides a standard joystick? A hardware panel or so?

Hi Tony - yes, I have the full goflight airliner captain setup including trim wheels.  I also have a switch on my yoke for stab trim and one for aileron trim.  I'll do another flight and if this happens again, I'll try your idea...

    Thanks,
    Jim

  9. Hey Jan -

    OK - some more weirdness....

    1.  sometimes the trim wheel sound is constant when it's hardly moving or not moving.

    2. last two flights, VNAV was buggy - had to switch to VS

    3. last flight - LNAV was problematic....it seems that it doesn't like to track more than a 90 degree turn after takeoff....last flight was a 180 turn once airborne.

    Specs: XP11.32r2, Win7-64, 16GB RAM, GTX 970 w/4GB VRAM, 3.5Ghz intel CPU.

  10. Hi Litjan - my B733 is not tracking LNAV in the latest release of XP11.32r2.  VNAV works fine, but not LNAV, and yes, I am very familiar with "flying" a B733 ;) I have to use HDG select to for lateral tracking. Has anyone else encountered this problem?

    Thanks,

    Jim

EDIT - I did another flight, and it worked correctly...weird.  XPlane did hang on exit, though...had to use WTM to end the process.

QUESTION - is it possible to stop the FOV from resetting to 60 degrees whenever I switch views from external back into the cockpit?  I have a 3 monitor setup and use 115 degrees for my FOV across all 3 screens.
