A shot of the potential 10.

Essentially, the SLG forces the front of the gear up, pushing the rear of the gear into the ground, effectively making the gear higher (except only on the rear wheels) this allows the plane's angle of attack to be higher without tailstrikes. The reason it works on this plane and not on the -9 or -8 is because they don't have SLGs and the gear bogey is just free-hanging.

  2. hiroshi's research into the 787-10, apparently, the new 787-10 won't have triple bogies, and will instead have an SLG that will keep contact with the ground and force the rear wheels against the ground during the landing and takeoff phases, essentially making the gear behave as though it's longer.

  3. about my comment from before.. my computer is a really really old mac, and has a little bit of a hard time just running the jrollon crj... so i get a little bit of a low frame.... does anyone know how to get higher frames on x-plane 9? i wish to upgrade my graphics card.... but i have no idea how and what to do with all those kind of things.. but i mostly want to get my vram up....... anyone know how? i have a old/(i dont really know how old) graphics card, but its an ATI Radeon 9000 Pro... so if anyone can give me any information on graphics or anything.. or possibly a link to somewhere to learn how to optimize my settings.. please put it in a response.. THANKS!! Anyways, Michael, this is a great looking plane and i really wish to fly it.. ;)

seriously... there's a help forum for that...

  4. A talented friend of mine has just built new GEnX engines for the 787, it's a WIP right now, and will be done in a few days, the new engines are higher in polygon count and make it easier to add details that were previously impossible to achieve. RR engines and new landing gear will follow.

  5. progress on projects like these require such huge ammounts of time, and the inbetween moments are agonizingly slow, but rest assured, I think these guys will put out something on a whole n'other level

  6. it looks great!! sorry i havent been keeping up with the forum.. but i have been reading all the progress.. and with school done for the summer, I'll be reading and posting a little bit more on the forum... BTW, how would the frames run on x-plane? would the 787 run like the jrollon crj? or something like that?

i built it on a macbook standard from 09, so i'd say you'll get excellent frames

  7. Hey! A tidbit of information from Eport Aviation Graphics! It has been confirmed that before the end of July, there will be no less than three paints for the 787 done by him! Many of you are probably familiar with his work on my aircrafts, and I must say I'm excited about this!

  8. The XPFW aircraft do not have exterior objects, only interior VC objects. You are likely exporting the acf as an OBJ and comparing that in Blender/AC3D, claude181.

As Michael has stated and credited, his files utilize the exterior objects from Project Oblivion. Permission for this has clearly been granted and shown.

You are suggesting that the FLIGHT MODEL obj (.acf file) is likely copied and made for his aircraft, and is in violation of copyright. Perhaps this is correct, but I'm going to throw a wrench in this one...

As the founder of XPFW, and a person who knows the people at XPFW all on a face to face basis, I'd say no one cares that the aircraft file was used from 2008. That SAID, credit should be given, so if such is the case, Michael, please consider making that part of it right.

End of story. We don't need to debate and point fingers in here all day. Lord knows the community could use some free aircraft that make the sim look better anyhow.

thanks for intervening, I assure everyone on this forum, the plane has not canibalized parts from the XPFW aircraft and that all parts, including fuselage, wings and flight surfaces were made and edited by myself.

The unfortunate truth is, these planes are extremely similar (because they're both 767s) and you're bound to find some overlap or similarity between any two properly built versions of the plane.

Finally, just a quick note, project oblivion is an illegal group XD my objects came from skyspirit2010, the brainchild of hiroshi.  :)

  9. understand that we don't condone distribution of that file and that we don't do support any more for that plane. I'm okay with pictures, but those also aren't encouraged because it causes me misery when i get 20+ new emails asking for the plane -_-

  10. How come Heroshi doesn't come over himself he could make lots of money?

he would never sell an aircraft, his life in the virtual world has been devoted to making quality freeware for all, if he were to come to x-plane, he'd make quality freeware, besides, though me, he is here, he's next to me (figuratively) in every single polygon, every bone, every animation, every button etc. etc. etc.
