  1. Anybody have experience with both (conventional HDD and SDD) on the same machine? How does moving from conventional hard drive to SDD effect X-Plane 10 loading times? Thanks. I tried searching forums for "SDD" but it wasn't allowed. By the way... What's the difference between this website and the (x-plane.org) website?
  2. The X-Plane 10 folder is on my Desktop, with its original name, just like the demo was. That X-Plane shouldn't install to Program Files is weird, but I don't care. I have been doing Windows so long and so much that these days I never bother changing installation paths, or renaming the installation folder. I used to dwell that sort of stuff, messing with Windows. Now I am too busy doing things with it.
  3. I don't doubt this has been posted already (feel free to delete it). It happened with the demo, now it's happening with the PC North America region. Windows XP SP3 Quad core Intel CPU 4 GB of system memory 512 MB video card
  4. My regional (Windows XP) version gets here tomorrow or day after. I have been messing with the configuration file all day. I prefer white text on a black background. (edit 1) Apparently something messed up, we'll get to it later.

    Frame Rates

Hopefully this hasn't been mentioned. Find a freeware memory indicator. MemStatus 2.65 works great on a Windows XP PC. You need something to at least show system memory and graphics card memory usage. Then you can tell what's happening to your system. On my system, somewhere between low graphics and higher graphics, X-Plane 10 maxes out the video card. According to the utility, system memory is not a problem here. Display frame rate (FPS) "Move your mouse to the top of the screen (causing the menu to appear) and click Settings, then Data Input & Output. Check the far right box next to frame rate (item 0, in the upper left corner of the window). This will cause X-Plane to display the current frame rate in the upper left of the screen during flight."
  6. How do you show frame rate?
  7. Which scenery disk is KSAT on? Thanks.
  8. That looks good. I would like to make the fonts larger, too. I guess that can be done by adjusting screen resolution? I'm using the X-Plane demo, last time it took forever to load, so I'm kind of stuck on the experimentation stuff. Waiting for the simulator to arrive on Wednesday. I will compare your work to the original file, to get some clues. According to your readme, I can use the plane editor, that might be quicker.
  9. I would like to know what all of the colors are used for in the interface file (interface.png). Is there a description for all of those colors, someplace? In other words... What is each color used for? Text, background, etc. Thanks.
