I made a flight from Barrow to Bettles. At an altitude of 3500 ft VFR in the JF Piper Arrow 3. Just north of Bettles there was some 4000 to 5000 foot mountains. I jumped in the canyons and made my way south to Bettles. From Bettles I headed west to Nulato hills. The temp in Nulato was 0 degrees F. Looking at the airport cams for Nulato there was no snow on the ground, just very cold. Alaska is the best flying in the world. I love it!!!! VirtualGAaviator, You have stick to one plane to get the hours in that plane. Just saying, Dude.

I have just finished the KSXK airport scenery. Looks great. This airport is not in X-Plane 11. I created the airport scenery from scatch. LR did a great job with the program WED. User friendly and with all the scenery libraries installed, you can make airport sceneries look great.

Great weather this week in Alaska. I was able to get into Barrow. The temperature is hanging around the freezing point or a little below freezing. The JF Piper Arrow 3 is performing very well. I am up to 150 hours in the Arrow 3 and the landings are getting better and better. Air Nevada Virtual Airlines now has over 300 scheduled routes in Alaska and more on the way. Flying everyday on the IVAO network. See ya all in the air soon.

Hi Cameron, I looked into to the solution to making roads in x-plane 11. Way above my pay grade. I am not a programmer and do not understand any of the lingo.

No, flight sim developers.

Yeah maybe half mil is a little too much, 250k is a realistic number to say. As an Electrician, I made good money. 10 to 15 years ago there was some developers I wanted to sue. But didn't do it, too much money and no telling weather I would have won or not. And In UK I would have had go over their and find a lawyer and fight in their courts. I do not like doing business with companies in the UK. NO consumer protection living in the US. And yes I have been ripped off by a company in the UK. I totally agree! The retail business is tough. I never looked down that road. Always looked for a big company to work for and the US Federal Goverment did me good. Overall, life is great, flight simuation is great with X-Plane 11, And best of all Retirment is the best thing I ever did in my life!! WOOOOOOO!!!

I like it, VirtualGAaviator. IMO Developers are making money with MSFS and that is why they are being slow with xp12. I am all in with x-plane. No going back to microsoft. I will not waste my money on MSFS. I used FS9 for many years wasted a lot of money on add ons that did not work and wanted to file a lawsuit on some, but did not have the money to do so. But that is flight simulation, it is not cheap. In the 23 years I have been flight simming, I have spent close to a half million dollars on computers, simulators, add on, aircraft, and the big one, Internet speed($75 to $120 a month today). The debate on which one is better will never end. Personally, I do not give a F!@# how good MSFS is. I am x-plane forever! Yes the rant would of been better, only because i love to cuss, maybe to much. It's my right. Freedom.

Yeah and their are using x-plane 11 . That would cost some bucks for that system.

X-Crafts Releases E-Jets for X-Plane 12 - FSElite X-crafts releases E-Jets for X-Plane 12. Rotate Releases MD-80 Pro Beta for X-Plane 12 - FSElite OK, now I see more aircraft for X-Plane 12, but none of them I want to fly yet.

LR's roadmap for x-plane 12 at this link - Laminar Research Shares Short-Term X-Plane 12 Roadmap - FSElite Enjoy.

Alaska is awesome. For the second time going through Merrill Pass. There is nothing like flying the canyons. Utah has some awesome canyons to fly in also. The Piper Arrow 3 is the perfect plane to fly the canyons. The weather has been good, little haze and light rain going into Mcgrath, but no iceing. Bethel was socked in with low clouds and snow.

I am in Alaska. Route was 1L1 - 06u - S39 - KONP - CYAZ - CYZT - PAKT. In my Piper Arrow 3 by Just Flight. Only ran into iceing conditions once. Since I was flying the coast of southern Alaska, I was able to lower my altitude.

No sir. I never really had an interest in these aircraft. Maybe I need to try one. Thank-you @VirtualGAaviator

Daemotron, You should fly on a network like IVAO and get live ATC. IVAO in Germany is loaded with live ATC. VFR flying in Europe is a little more restricted than the United States. You were above the artic circle where it stays below freezing 300 days a year. I have flown into Goose Bay and Deadhorse. Deadhorse Alaska is where the main fuel supply for Northern Alaska. And the DA42 is one of my fleet aircraft for my VA Air Nevada. And you have a plane with De Iceing fluid, Cheers! That is music to my ears, dude. Very nice flying story, hope see more flying stories in the Thread. I, personally have crossed the artic circle under water in a submarine on October 1, 1979.

I think I have said this before, I had plans to get my PPL. But if I did that I could not afford to retire. I made the right decision, I retired insteaded. The unrealistic part of flying in Alaska is that most of the airports in Alaska do not have fuel available. I fill up my tanks at every airport in Alaska. I have been flight simming since 2000. Microsoft Flight Simulator 98 was my first, then 2000, then 2004, and for a short period of time on steam FSX. 2019 I bought X-Plane 11 and never looked back. Been a member of many VA's. I quit most, because of rejected PIREP's. I was kicked out on one (Flying Tigers Group) because of my mouth. Now I have my own VA, Mainly for my private flight log. Powered my PHPvms. For now I will continue to fly the Carenado King Air C90B.

Too cold. -30 degrees F with a wind chill that brings the temperature down to a -70 degree F. Not possible. Check the weather in Alaska now. I still cannot risk it. Last year I had to wait till June. Watch the series Flying Wild Alaska. I am sure there are days I could fly. I takeoff from the airport I landed at. I do not jump from airport to airport. So if the weather is bad, I am grounded and can not fly. Just my part about being realistic when I fly. Iceing is the main cause of my crashes. I have crashed because of some strong crosswind landings, 50+ knots crosswinds, but iceing gets me more often then the winds. I have to do the flights over. For this reason is why I fell in love with GA aircraft and VFR flying. I have no interest in the airliners. VirtualGAavator, I am like most of your friends, I fly the same aircraft for many hours. Dornier 228 - 2500 hours, Piper Arrow 4 Turbo - 460 hours , Aero Commander 690B - 395 hours. I track my hours in each aircraft I fly. And back in the day with FS9 I had over 1000 hours in the Airbus 320.

Avsim is still a great source of airliner liveries for FS9, FSX and prepar 3d.

The time is getting closer and closer to head for Alaska in my Just Flight Piper Arrow 3. Alaska is my favorite place to fly. I would fly there all year around if I had some de icing fluid. The summers are great in Alaska. The summer in Alaska is my winter in Las Vegas. Summer in Las Vegas is 110 degrees F campared to 60 degrees F in Alaska. In real life I could never live in Alaska, way too cold for this desert rat. I love the heat. It gets below 80 degrees F I am cold. Ok ready for another day of flying. Fly everyday , all day. 4 to 8 hours a day. Love it, baby!!!

CTDs don't fly with me. every time I added new scernery in Microsoft flight simulator 2004, I would run the risk of a CTD because of a corrupt scenery file. I started useing xp11 in 2019 and I have had less the 5 CTDs. Main cause was one third party plugin. And the developer has fixed the issue. XP12 in this forum there are mainly good things said about the sim. But go to Avsim.com, or flightsim.com and read the BS there. You would not buy XP12. A new computer is coming soon for me. I9, 64 gb ram, NVIDIA® GeForce RTX™ 4090 (24 GB GDDR6X dedicated), and 1 tb ssd. Then I will see what xp11 really looks like with the grapics turned up MAX. I hope??? I plan to buy xp12 in 2 years. By then it will be a great sim with lots of aircraft available to choose from.
-
OK VirtualGAaviator, I have study level all wrong. I get now, from you last post.
-
One reason I will not buy xp12 is because of aircraft availability. The information I am getting from the thread sounds like developers are working very hard to get aircraft for xp12. Cheers!

The one system I had trouble with was the default King Air C90B Cabin Pressure system. It took me blacking out a couple of times before I read up and figured it out. Breakers, interesting because I know the Carenado aircraft Dornier 228 and the C90B, the breakers do not exist. I cannot find out what the fuel tank vents are used for and when to open or shut the vents? The documents with the aircraft does not talk about it at all. VirtualGAaiator, Great topic, Learning to a good thing.

No Sir, I did not ignore you. I wanted information and you gave to me. Thanks.

So what developers are still developing aircraft for X-Plane 11? I know one developer that is updating their aircraft for X-Plane 12 and will stop selling their aircraft for X-Plane 11. So I agree with VirtualGAaviator, I don't think any developer is making anymore planes for X-Plane 11. Unless you have information about developers still making planes for X-Plane 11 you would like to share? I know Carenado and Thandra parted ways. Thandra aircraft are very good.
