Yes the Mentor is already finished. As soon as I finish the documentation and make the promotional video (or before). I think I will release the doc for free.

Hi! Well I saw a the video and I want to say that that guy is totally stupid. Sorry to be against this video, but I cannot stand people that put on risk others doing things that they think it is fun because they are "bored in their normal not happening nothing lives". 2 weeks ago a bike rider died here on Spain because two joung people where having fun on streets before the wedding of one of the friends. Imagine you are a motorist and see that plane when you get inside the tunnel.. you just are scared and crash. I think people are too bored in the world. Try to find risky things that no other people does. That is no problem if they "want" to die, but if they put on risk other lives, I cannot support it! Tell their parents, friends that his stupid boy died. Well he was stupid. Imagine he killed someone down walking while falling. Sorry to be this humor. Hi! The Sound plugin will be done the last. Already there is something done.. but all sounds are driven by datarefs.. so any dataref we would want to make sound we could.. so it is possible to do. Right now Anton is concentrating on ending the FMS most important parts... and he is close. Later we will see those "little" details.

There are two ways of doing reflexion lights on OBJs. First baked.. that is good if the light is not moving (beacon, strobes, navs), because It also gives you the bake of the shadows. You can drive them with manipulator ATTR_Light... so.. just render it.. and there it is. Other is dynamic light (that is not dinamic.. because one thing I want to to link to an manipulator and move it (for example moving flood on lamp inside cockpit). Those are internal lights..... but if you name an external (fuselage, wings.... landing gears) as internal then you have that light. That is what I did with CRJ Landing lights.. BUTTTT!!! that is an exploid of x-plane. Ben Supnik told me that we was going to redone that. Maybe he thought better becasue still is working... (HOPE NOT FIX IT!!) but for sure on x-plane 10 will be done other way. But I think there will be solutions for external illumination there!

Well these days are days of full work for Laminar and having little time for the Mentor, that for sure I think I will release it before the CRJ. It is a plane that it is taking me so much time. Maybe because now I know how to do things much better and that takes its time.. but I am filling all the parts of the Plane very nicely. Just the animation of all the parts of the plane it is taking me the longest of all planes I have ever done (and there are some of them already!!) So many gauges here. So.. here are the screens. I hope to have the plane out on September. Best!

That is a question more for Anton.. but we are using the default autopilot but changing the datarefs where we could not simulate the CRJ ones. But we are going to release the SDK so someone would be able to write a plugin for any device on future.

well.. the only thing I would like to say is that it is better to maintain this topic as a "Any news" one. I understand the point of view of everyone.. so if always everything is said with education.. then no problem. About CRJ. I have been talking with Anton... He found a big bug on SIDS and STARS and seems to be solved. But he is working on the FMS. On Holding's page. Well.. development continues. Sometimes slowly sometimes fast. Depending on weather.. and as you can feel for those that lives on north part of the earth.. Right now it is tooooo hot! and In Moscow they have the hottest temperatures around in more than 140 years.. so patience.......... fiuuuu!!!

Well.. first I want to say that the person that develope something for x-plane or anything has my respect at all!. Second.. I must say Nills he is a great artist and he is doing really great work for x-plane plane... and he is part of the org comunity and will make really great work for future x-plane 10 (I know that). Second... I don't want to fight against x-plane.org. I have my opinion about Nicolas but X-plane.org it is not nicolas only. It is a huge comunity and they have my respect (always if the people respect everyone). I think Nicolas is doing badly and don't like his politics on the .org.. but people has to right to be whereever they want. Still the CRJ200 is nothing.. so right now is a shit!! because it is nothing. Not ended. We have to end it first.. then see if what we "did" is good for most people and you all like it. After that, we will have somethign there. For now is a promise that some people are saying it is going to be the best plane ever on x-plane. Well.. first I must say that the 777 seems to be amazing and maybe it will be better than our CRJ. But I don't consider this a war or a competence. Anton and me are making the CRJ with LOVE and we enjoy that!! Of course I don't want to spend an eternity to finish it but also we don't want to release something uncomplete. So... Hurra!! for all the developers of the .org because I know how hard it is to finish something that works.

the A320.. hehe.. Well see how long it takes to release the CRJ that is near to end and still it takes loooong and looong.. because those little things to program are never ending stuff...... so imagine when the A320 will be released that only the external model is done without textures. I must say about the A320 that the topic was deleted to not create such expectation so soon as the CRJ did (we learn from our mistakes). About the Mentor. Well.. right now the texture is ended (only one livery for now.. will make more before release) and I am making the animations of the gauges (external are done) so.. still Have to do instruments (this plane won't have programming so as far as I can reach with generics It will be released as payware but cheap price) documentation and liveries. So I think Maybe end August or September will be released if everything is ok. It is not the principal. Only when I have time from Laminar or CRJ. I will post advance pics soon. I must say that it is for free demo of 10 minutes so you can test it if you like.. and even if you buy it it is so cheap now. I think it was 29$ or so. I came from Fs2004 but seeing the new FSX and the poor performance of it and the great amount of developers there I chose x-plane.. not for building planes at the begining. Just for flying it... and I liked it. Because at that moment I didn't see good 3D cockpits I started to build them. I am not planing to change the FSX. I am confortable right now on x-plane, you all should try it. best!

Slow advance because hot and other preference works.. but here comes advances on 3dcockpit texturing....

W O W!!!!! ;) well the screens of the displays will have popups, and they will move but only inside the monitor. If you have a second monitor won't move there. But... maybe we could investigate on future to do that if the demand by users is enough.

Maybe what I did wrong in this project of the CRJ was release videos too soon of it. But one of the most important reasons I did that it was because I needed help on programming and help from real pilots. I had that but also the big expectation of everyone. So all are waiting. But as a old developer of games I must say that this is the normal time it takes to create something interesting. Yes.. maybe I can be fast on graphics but what it takes most is the "logic" of the product. Because without it CRJ would be a furniture with wings. So Sorry if someone feels that is wasting his life waiting for this plane. Believe me I am the first (and Anton the First also) that want to end the plane if not today, yesterday. But I am not fool, and don't want to release something not ended. Of course I don't want to never-release the perfect plane. Because I would never end it. So the sentence of when it will be released? when it is finished... and still is not. It is close.. but not finished. All will know when. Sure!

No.. no.. Things are going slow. Right now we are close to beta stage... but "close" is a word I don't want to define. As Anton said.. there are lots of small things to do that takes time. The good news is the main core is already done, but still those "little" things do to. no words doesn't mean no working on it.

Sí deberías actualizar la gráfica no solo ya por mi avión sino por que te vas a perder los futuros que estoy haciendo para x-plane 10 y de por si.. el propio x-plane 10 con todas esas mejoras gráficas que son una delicia verlas y volarlas (no he visto mucho pero lo poco que he visto si que será bueno en el aspecto gráfico. En cuanto al Checklist. Estuve en contacto con el fabricante y me pasó planos.. documentación etc.. pero no el checklist. En cuanto terminé le mandé el avión pero jamás supe de nuevo de él. O sea que no le pude pedir mucho más y no encontré ningún checklist. Aunque de todas formas es un avión tan sencillo en cuanto a sistemas, que no tiene mucho misterio, pero vamos si encuentro algo por ahí.. lo postearé. Gracias una vez más!

Yes!!!!!!!! Sorry for not posting anything of the CRJ or any of my planes, but today is the day when Spain won the World Football Cup!!! The first times in our lives! Supporter like me of Real Madrid a long Ago seeing how Spain always was eliminated in quarter finals or before, for me is a pleasure see all the streets of the cities of Spain with Yellow and Red Colors! For people out of Spain maybe that is normal, see his flags everytime on their courtries.. but here we don't usually show our flag out of the houses.. so it is incredible now to feel proud to be "spaniard" Here the crisis is going bad and I know this Cup is not solution of anything but see people happy is always a pleasure. Just a sentence: ¡¡¡QUE VIVA ESPAÑA!!!
