chris k are you using some program to generate photoreal? If yes, what would it be? Incredible!
Nope. That's hand placed & edited orthophotos from nearmap. Time consuming but the results speak for themselves.

Enjoy the new "view" on the world. I have found anything > 1080p is a whole new ballgame for clarity and usefulness =)

Although the selection is closed - I'll throw in that I'm a reg. Apple developer and have Yosemite GM2 OSX if you need a dev box.
3 installs of XP10 in various Vanilla, Demo, and full-on flavours.

Too many hours spent in front of this on my Amiga 500.
Was the predecessor to "JetFighter" on the PC - same author.

really 2x? supposition/predigest or measured?
Measured - My Rig - MacPro 3.46Ghz Hexacore, GTX670 - Boot into Win7 and it's night and day on FPS.
Another comparison done by Ben himself (before I had a bootcamp partition):
From: Ben S <bxxxxx@xsquawkbox.net>Subject: Re: Bug report: Instancing Disabled on Apple + Any nVidia HW (even though supported)Date: December 19, 2012 at 7:46:18 AM GMT+11To: Chris K <xxxxxxxxxx@gmail.com>hi Chris,Just an FYI: another user sent me Mac/Win comparisons, so I don't need you to destroy your system to run Bootcamp. But I will say: there's fps to be had on Linux and Windows58 fps on Linux50 fps on Windows35 fps on Mac.cheersben

Thats a 1.5X increase right there - (Ok, perhaps not 2X but it feels like it!) more if you factor vs Linux on same hardware- CK. -
Win7 on the exact same hardware = ~2X the speed

Hello chris k
Only because You cannot get along with the truth, You use insulting language, we just say what fact is and that's not bitching and whining.
The only thing that would be fair, give an option to download 1.3.3 again for Users running only 2,8 GHz Prozessors
all others are surely happy with the wonderful 2.0 upgrade.
By the way, if You are so Generous, You can send me 4000€ to buy me a (
- 12-Core Prozessor
- Dual-AMD FirePro GPUs mit bis zu je 6 GB GDDR5 VRAM Mac
- SMP then will run pretty smooth i think.
-
No. I will send you $40.
Send me your paypal.
-
If you have problems with Skymaxx, send me your paypal email address
I'll personally refund you the $40 so I don't have to hear you bitching and whining anymore.

This is definitely the program you want to use: http://www.x-plane.com/downloads/x-plane_10_installer-updater/
Dont use the DVD installer/updater - its generally out of date.
The Installer/updater linked above will repair any XP10 installation for the "Laminar Supplied" files.

I do however feel freeware could be a way to go in the meantime
Tom K has released a Seasons product?
Bit of constructive criticism...
Your "Seasons" product doesn't work at all. I mean, it's a good idea and all, but your software either deletes airplanes by mistake, causes loss of FPS or crashes X-Plane. You also didn't address the Multiplayer Fog. Any time you enable multiplayer fog your Seasons product also crashes.
It also has no POLs or tesselation. You said your seasons product needed tessellation, but you don't have the correct NORMALS showing up on the vertexes. It also causes wingspans to be smaller. You said your product would increase wingspan. Your Seasons product don't.I really think people shouldn't be buying your product.
-
But what about the POLs tom? What about the POLs? You haven't discussed the POLs yet.

Very cool. We should probably add a "reset" button to the configuration screen in a future update. It's too easy to end up making unwanted tradeoffs between quality and performance in there, and forget how to get back to where you started from.
Hi Guys,
Actually - I was just thinking this exact same thing as I was fooling around with SMPv2 yesterday.
The ability to [reset to factory defaults] would be appreciated, this way I don't have to remember whack knobs Ive turned, and where to put them 'back' once I've fiddled with them.
+1 on this idea. Thats is all.
