The ability to iverrude xplanes runway draping texture rules is not user accessible in any way as it currently stands..... Otherwise I would have done it by now. .
FlyJsim's textures require you to muck about with xplane internal files - which although it works - is contrary to the "library element" philosophy that Ben is pushing for 3rdparty scenery developers.
That portion of the code / rule set is still "locked in" hardcoded at the moment.
-
Just an X52 Pro at the moment. Ropeless has the full ensemble I've seen at his place.
-
You start by finding the punctuation keys.

That is freaking awesome.

Is it just me or does anyone else have really no clue what this is all about?
Errr, its not just you....
/me stands back and becomes thoroughly perplexed by this conversation.
-
I'll bug some people I know to toss that in as a feature request. As I said, in theory it should be possible to do.... Assuming the runway rendering code path is the same for other draped poly's.

Err, You can select the texture type of a taxiway. If you feel like you'd like to "go over" a taxiway section in a little piece, then yes you can use one of thise built in "pavement" library polygons later. (they are always drawn "on top" of any taxiway.
If you don't define a proper taxiway system, the AI aircraft get lost.
Exporting a draped polygon with a bezier curve in Windows crashed WE'D. Known issue. Taxiways with bezier curves do not crash.

Most likely disallowing new users to upload files...
Or, Like Cameron, have it under mod review.
Which begs the question...
HEY CAMERON, any way to have X-pilot.com not require Moderator Approval for certain groups of members? (i.e. I think you can trust guys like Colin S, GreggerM, Baron, the ISDG guys, etc) when they upload things like scenery files - there's nothing nefarious in them.
Just looking to lessen your workload.
Or perhaps deputizing some members here to be able to approve file uploads - you gotta sleep at some point, eh?

I just loaded WED
I Imported KARA form the master apt.dat
It loaded into WED
I added a water runway with the 'seaway tool'. click once, then click again; it shows up in WED
I added a water taxiway. taxiway Tool, draw polygon, select 'water'
"Export scenery pack", it exported.
Which step are you having trouble with?
p.s. You may have to call the runway "16R/34L" since I am unsure if "W" is an allowable designation in XP

X-plane does not apply "shinyness" to runways (yet). however, I wouldnt put it past them to add that - as it's an easy addition i.e. using normal/reflection maps, which are allowed under XP10 for draped polygons.
but hey; whatever. Lemme know if you need it - i'll PM you the .ZIp file

Heh here's another one.
"John G. Diefenbaker International Airport xplane". Nope.
"CYXE xplane" - Yup. First hit.
-
And you can always ask for particular airports from the community.
Someone just asked for KGSP last week and greggerm threw one together.
Someone asked for C99 poplar grove -I tossed it together in an hour for them.
Luckily the xplane universe is full if helpful idiots like us (no offence Greg).
EDIT, easIert way to search is byICAO code. Scenery developers generally post the ICAO code as part of the naming by convention.
i.e. searching for "Ernest Rutherford/Lower Wakari Kakaori international Airport xplane" may not work, but "xplane NZDN" does immediately. I just had a look at the google search you tried. I would never do it like that (and expect it to actually work). Heh.
Know your ICAO codes.! These are where planes fly to. Humans are just ballast and/or cargo.

That's a good team of talented aircraft builders you guys have!
Wish you all the best guys! Go get 'em.

0 out of 10 for doing it and hurting 3rd party x-plane developers in the process.
Just what this community needs - another reason for developers to flee.

Have you tried a google search? Ie xplane vatsim installation etc..?
There's an entire multipart video tutorial as well on YouTube.
I'm sure the parental controls will allow you to search for such words.
Edit: searching xplane vatsim yielded this as the top find: https://sites.google.com/site/arbxplanevatsimsite/

Lights.txt file
Look for the size column in the w-w light definition. Change from 0.8 to something like 2.6.
HDR heavily affects the sprite size. Known bug which I've submitted to Ben and the boys.
I've hacked my own lights.txt file to drastically increase the spill width and billboard sizes for the sprites. Looks much better now.

I started to find out why even some major airports like Philadelphia International Airport (KPHL) (460,779 aircraft movements in 2010, according to Wiki) don't have buildings.
Great KPHL scenery here: http://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?app=downloads&showfile=11513
There's a *Ton* of scenery - Laminar provides provides the X-Plane fight dynamics, rendering engine, and the base terrain.
The rest of us i.e. the 3rd party developers (i.e. other than the 2 people at Laminar research, who are busy coding and adding features to the above) provide the rest of the scenery; and most of the Aircraft too. Due to LR's size, it's uneconomical for them to do the airports. They leave that to the 3rd party scenery developers (just like the MSFS world). They also contract people to make most of the the Airplanes you see.
I dont know anyone who still uses the "default" airports in MSFS at all, either... so your net result is the same. You need to grab and install the scenery you want - luckily it's very easy process to add new Custom Scenery. (Far easier than Ive ever seen elsewhere) by simply putting a pre-made file into your /Custom Scenery/ directory. Poof! Done.

Correct. Or you both need public IPs on your flight sim machine, which you do not.
You can try settIng up port forwarding or DMZ mode on your home router, but if you don't understand how TCP/IP works, you're not going to get very far.

Note to network geeks, technically it's UDP/IP were playing with here.

Here's some screenshots of our upcoming Australian Scenery replacement project:
This is from YSSY and YMML areas:
Updated YSSY Terminal v1.4. Note the water and sky reflections on the tarmac.
A320NEO Payware Airbus, with Jetstar Repaint
Andras's AlPilotX's HD Tree Repalcements, John's SkyMAXX
Additional Animals from RUScenery OpensceneryX wooden fences
ISDG Replacement Fence Facades
Additional Reeds and grasses from Ropeless and SimmoW, 3D object by Skyflyer
New Melbourne Tower by Sethesus
UrbanMAXX Australian Replacement urban textures, and CloudMAXX cloud replacements.
Hope you enjoyed!

They're probably XP7 or XP8 aircraft. ( not XP9 ). I know the 757 is definitely an XP8 acft if you recently acquired it from XPFW.
^^ They even say 8.6 In big bold letters on the download graphic and the plane.png last time I checked.
Ryan's remedy is correct.
-
That's in the OSM data. Somebody drew the platform as 4 railroad lines.
XP10 is simply interpreting the OSM data perfectly correctly. Whomever did that, did it wrong in the original data.
Now, here's your chance to fix it.

Xplane is a virus. You can't get rid of it once it has infected you.
