Just another approach , painting this bird , it looks like I cannot stop doing it. Creating extra windows ,doors and hatches, its a special sport. A bit of painting and bumpmapping. I am not the first one making an AA livery for the LES DC3 , the green one with the straight cheatline is already avalable "there" , you know. Well ....ehh the bird should have catched a fish there I think.

Thanks guys for your positive reactions. Till now, this is my conclusion. Both sides of the plane show , in a different way however, the Mayan serpent. The left side shows us the version with the more or less human looking face the painting on the right side is the serpent with the feathered tail and the more beasty face. You can recognise the more or less hooked curves in the body of the serpent , the way Maya`s used to shape it , on both figures. In fact we are talking about the Mayan serpent-god named " Quetzalcoatl " , among other things,the god of the sky. This all must leave us with the conclusion , we are defenitely talking about a plane with two different ( although related ) livery-sides. KwinAir just registerd the plane onder N55NK and put the red KWIN AIR on the fuse , forgetting to remove the old wing registration N9012 in first instance. Kwin Air did not invest in a new livery paint. I published the plane at the ORG yesterday. Quetzalcoatl.zip Best regards Leen de Jager Below , 1. Repaint for the LES DC3

The new cockpit for this one , as much as possible depicting the original A65-114 cockpit.

It ( the Airborne Imaging-livery) arrived at the ORG this very moment. Enjoy!! Leen

I am afraid I cannot do the N3006, as far as I know ,this model does not include environmental-reflections wich is vital when making an extreme-polished-bare-metal.

Let me explain. The aircraft itself being a DC3 is famous , in my opinion extremely famous. For many of us even te most famous plane ever. If you mean why this livery, its easy to tell. Its just because I like it. As I am used to painting the planes I like , is mere logic. I only paint liveries I like , famous or not. If other people like them , I am happy having made them , if other people don`t............. I am as happy.

Is this normal ? Its the magic of normals.

This will be the new cockpit colorsetting.

C47-D-Flottille 56S nr 87 This repaint is inspired by the French Navy livery for the C47 D . It depicts ( more or less ) the NR87 at the end of its career with the 52S Flottille. Unless her age , she was a reliable workhorse. These days she does`nt fly anymore but she still exists , standing at the entrance of the Nimes Naval base. As I wanted to give an over-all impression of the bird I aimed my brushes on the outside and to the interior , including the panel and cockpit as well. At the last moment a found a French crew , willing to fly this bird to you. Merci beaucoup mes amis. I hope you`ll all enjoy this skin as much as I enjoyed making it. If you like to have orange-tipped spinning propellors just put the LES_Douglas DC-3(Wheels)_prop.png file in the main objectsfolder of the DC3 overwriting the existing file. (make back-up first). Due to the limitations of the model this wil result in all other planes having the same effect.

Sorry, I always want to have the community " with their noses between/among the pixels". ( I am not afraid of "zooming in" I prefer to be judged at pixel level) Some loading time is evident then. A smaller picture will load quicker , it wil not show what I try to accomplish.

Still in (slow) progress . This weekend I added emergency-exits, some plate panels , lavatory-window (specular for this still un-edited) , some detail in wing(landing)lights.
