    Hiya,

    Start off here ......... i will be blunt but you should see what settings i mean off top of my head

    HDR = High

    Maximum (no compression)

    AA 4x (1 click left from maxed right (16x i think max is or 8x) but 4x is fine for me, max drops fps drastic

    World objects = High

    Draw shadows off, and for me though it only costs a few fps i leave Draw parked aircraft Off

    Those are my settings for zl17 land ortho with airfields getting the 3km radius zl18 treatment lol, plus numerous sceneries n libraries etc etc

    Edit : I use Heathrow and the NY area to test settings, also Tokyo can tax a system good too, once i get frames i can live with those areas, i leave well alone, But ... you could max most out in lesser populated areas on the fly so to speak (overdo this though and xp will vapourize into nothing and you'll be back at desktop lol

    Hiya's,

    I had the same problem when i messed up a while ago with an xp11 beta, i didn't back up my aircraft folder and got caught up with a somewhat broken beta install lol

    For me the fix was as Morten suggested ................. I had two installs (still no idea how i messed up that badly hehe)

    Also i don't think it had any bearing on the problem, but i hadn't copied my X-Aviation folder over fully

    Hope that makes sense

    Hiya,

    Yes there was a Pre-Order option as i used it

    If i recall correctly, i got a serial number via email

    Can't find the contact/email but i sure have the S/N

    Check your records regarding card used for purchase would be my first step to obtain proof

    I must of done my usual safety thing by saving and encrypting the S/N and backing up with good old pen n paper, then shredded the email

    The pre-order was on xp11's site, i try to link it ........

    Obviously the wording has changed now as it's in beta http://www.x-plane.com/

    From what i hear the CS phone service is decent

    I agree Tom,

    Keep up the good work indeed

    It's nice to be kept in the loop (up to date) as to what's going on

    I personally think posts like this help products in the long run and the short term for that matter, set your stall out to speak for everyone to see

    No doubt it'll be worth the wait

    Vram i'd guess Frank meant mainly, i could be wrong ;)

    Vram can be the be all and end all regarding a lot of x-plane glitches

    Also, as weather/ground-clutter conditions etc change, you can go from a healthy 2gb un-used to borderline/maxed out, i'd suggest testing somewhere dense like L.A or NY with real good ole British Summer Weather, ya know, totally filled sky with clouds and howling down with rain sleet or snow lol, then make adjustments if needed to your actual xp and smp settings so you have some overhead once done

    My 1080 can get maxed pretty fast lol, roll on 16gb+ Gpu's :)

    I've not messed with flattening rwys in xp11

    I must admit i do like the effect at KSEA for example

    If i run into good sceneries that require flat rwys then maybe i'll mess

    It's a known item in xp11, they've been working on kinda 'melding' tyre/weight/force/grip or whatever you want to term it, they'll no doubt get it right before final or maybe even rc release

    I'd hazard a guess that the new effects regarding flight dynamics etc are still a wip, i've not tested per say, but i'm thinking along the same lines as drag isn't as much as previously, again though, beta and all that, i like to think they'll have a more polished rc or final, and then like in 10, they will continue to update as time progresses (amazing if they didn't going on their track record)

    I have seen a post or two here and more on the org about the drag or lack thereof

    Best just roll with the flow err betas, and no doubt it'll all get worked out decently

  17. 30 FPS w/IXEG 737 no matter what...

    3d settings/manage 3d settings/global or/and program settings/vertical sync, in there check adaptive half rate refresh isn't the chosen option

    For what it's worth i've found in xp11, threaded optimisation at auto does the same in my case as having it turned off or on, just in case you use xp11 beta

    Also, if you've messed with nvidiainspector, check there too

    Hiya,

    Well i'm enjoying the betas hehe

    When i hear the phrase 'we're optimizing' my brain thinks 'here we go with less visual draw distance' lol or 'i'm enclosed in a render circle' i do hope this doesn't become the 'opimization'

    To me 11 is a different beast compared to 10, at the announcement Austin did say if you can max out 10 (i couldn't) you sure won't max out 11, i like that in a way, means they're staying somewhat ahead of hardware, the other way around annoys me, as-in having the hardware but it's not used to its max potential

    Lovin It so far i must say

    You best get a vid up showing off those sweet new peds !! ;)  hehe

    Anyways, back to the fun !!!

    After another gpu/cpu-motherboard/monitor upgrade when intel/nvidia release next batch soon hopefully, i think err well i know lol Croddwinds will be my next purchase flight-sim related, at least hardware-wise

    I know they get great reviews

    But when you're settled in with them, a quick writeup on them would be great :)

    If you're into flight sims, peds are a must, so much precision with them once you get used to them

    And an old adage here in the UK, buy cheap buy twice, food for thought, especially where flight gear's concerned, but obviously you can only afford what you can afford

    Luckily a mate in the states gave me CH Peds as a gift many many years ago, obviously not the best nowadays but boy they're still rockin lol

    Hiya's,

    I can imagine one simple scenario, i can think of another but won't post it as if it's as i think it's a great benefit to help protect a product

    So, Joe Scummy Freebie Bloggs buys a product

    Too lazy to upload the initial download so two scummy mates can get a copy via an online storage site

    So a link to the download gets pasted into a conversion box

    Hey Presto, a few seconds later three have a download within seconds

    As i've seen on this forum several times, one or more fubars the install and has obviously forgot to keep the download for later usage, slot refill is asked for, gets annoyed after being caught out, spouts off about civil liberties etc etc and pledges to sue etc etc

    Drops off the face of the earth err forum with tail between the legs

    Actually thought up another scenario, again, i'll keep that to myself

    To me, if you've got nothing to hide you have no worries regarding asking for slot activations

    I didn't really know how much hastle companies in the flight sim world have to go to trying to protect their investment, i do now lol and here's an example

    My first Catstrator Twitch Stream i think it was, there i was watching a plane being put through its paces, i'm pretty sure it was the IXEG 733, anyways, had a whisper popup, scared the stuffing out of me i was that engrossed in the stream

    'Hello, i'm so n so, have you got a link to the download please ?' Ballcocks says i, buy ya own, or polite wording to that effect

    For me two three or unlimited now means nothing to me, save your first and you're in good stead, if it stops scummers killing off something i like and chuck money at, i say do what the heck you can to stop them and keep working and producing for ones who love the end product and are willing to buy to support development/s, if it takes a step of three slots or a varification every six months so be it

  25. XP 11 Public Beta 6 is out

    Hiya's,

    The fps around KJFK is amazing for me, maxed out all settings except, ground shadows i have off, and reflections are set to low, running 4xSSAA+FXAA and also have Draw parked aircraft checked

    Loving pb6, though it seems my 3d cockpit view isn't allowing panning using my mouse !! lol
