  1. you can only get so much coverage from one projector. This is 2 walls for ~180 degree (maybe more) FoV.
  2. Hello all - newb here. Thrilled to find the airfield I'll be pursuing my PPL at, as well as a Piper PA28 (the plane they teach in) for me to "practise at home" on. Wonderfully surprised my DP2.5G5 with 4GB RAM and running Leopard will run this (tweaked settings to get a frame rate of ~21fps...will install a better video card over the xmas break- a friend gave me the one he used in his gamer days with at least 4x the memory); however, since I started tuning the COM radio to the Tower frequency, I've found that I have to hard boot the machine to undo the hang/beachball thats been resulting. Also, I have the METAR options engaged for weather/altimeter...are these two things in conflict? Do I need to revisit my config, is there a setting I've messed up or that I've overlooked? do I need a plug-in of some sort? am I not acknowledging the radio call of foxtrot/golf/uniform with a "mic key" keystroke and getting grounded? I'm just trying to fly circuits here... I'm trying to get in the habit/routine of 1hr/day. Frustrated. Please help. Thanks! -gk
  3. So, make an image of disc 1, and run from that? on my removable media... I've made up a RAID from thumb drives...
  4. Is there similar for Mac? I wonder if Toast will do that...
  5. I'll google that... As a follow up to my original question, how about something like this: https://fstoppers.com/product/convert-unused-usb-thumb-drives-your-new-favorite-live-work-ssd-12299
  6. So my DVDs are on their way from warmer climes and I'm wondering if it's kosher to install them onto a USB key for portability. Anyone? I'll be using XP9 on a re-purposed audio workstation G5 (DP2.5Ghz, 8GB RAM, 256MB GPU) connected to a 48" monitor and what was ~$30k or so worth of audio conversion and monitors...a commercial pilot buddy laughed when he brought his old yoke over to use with the demo - we met at recording school 20ish years ago...and then he asked if he can come over and brush up on some instruments in return for some "lessons" (I'll be starting groundschool next month)
  7. That's really super awesome...fantastic idea!
  8. Imagine my surprise/pleasure at discovering XP9 runs on my 10 year old G5 mac...dual 2.5 GHz processors, 4GB RAM, (overclocked) factory video card and OS 10.5.8 It's not the hardware, it's the OS.
  9. Seeing as Bombardier is parading one around in Swissair livery, maybe that's where to start...
