  1. Well, I'm new to IFR and obviously have a lot to learn. 392 was in a flight planning tool that also works with another flight simulator, and 391.5 was from pilotfriend.com. No, not rude - I didn't think of looking on the local map, so it's good to know about that now. Cheers everyone!
  2. Thanks Jim, Works at SCIP! and at EGTF. When doing the tutorial Boston to JFK I didn't have the inverter on. But I'm based at EGHI and that's where I've been trying to get it to work and even with the inverter on, it still can't locate the NDB EAS at EGHI. This is listed at 392KHz in some sources. So I've checked that elsewhere and it's 391.5 there. So I've now dialled in 391, and that works! I really appreciate the help, but (although they weren't the problem in this case) I think the manuals could be more useable. I run an IT Training Consultancy so I have a lot of experience in this area. Best wishes
  3. No. I have now and the RMI tracks the VOR but still nothing for NDBs.
  4. Yep, ADF mode on the radio, dialled in the frequency and flicked the switch to transfer it to the live frequency, just like on the Nav radio. The EHSI displays the direction to the VOR, but not the NDB. The RMI does nothing whether I set it to ADF or VOR. What else do I need to do to activate the RMI?
  5. Sorry if this is RTFM (and point me to the page if it is) but why doesn't my RMI do anything? I've followed the tutorial and flicked both switches to VOR but both arrows stay horizontal pointing to the right. At the end of the tutorial I dialled in the NDB frequency to the ADF radio on the pedestal, flicked the switch on the RMI and pressed BRG to display in the EHSI, and still the arrows don't move. The EHSI NDB pointer also doesn't move. I've also sat in my home airport (EGHI) and dialled in the local VOR and NDBs, and the RMI doesn't respond then either.
  6. That's better! Now I have to learn how to fly it.... Thank-you very much. Laurence
  7. Well, that's made things worse. I used the Windows Control panel to uninstall and reinstalled the Saab. No improvement. Then I tried to install the Hotfix, on each aircraft before trying to fly again. The Cargo variant crashed X-Plane as soon as I clicked reboot, and X-Plane crashed out when trying to load the program with the Cargo variant as the chosen aircraft (I use the splash screen so I can choose a different aircraft etc every time X-Plane loads.) Now I've just tried to update my rendering options, before a quick test, and X-Plane crashed out. I have to go to work now, so can't look at this again today. Thinking I should reinstall XP from scratch, update it, then install the Saab before I install any other add-ons. The only other Add-on I have is SkyMaxx v2. But lots of scenery, a couple of aircraft and airports. I am grateful for your suggestions. LJM
  8. Hi, Brakes definitely off and Condition Levers at Max - I use the TQ panel from the gizmo to indicate this. If I push to full power I do move, but it takes about two minutes to get to 120 knots. When I get airborne, there isn't a sudden acceleration - which I think confirms it's not the brakes. How long should it take to accelerate to 120knots and how much power should be needed to taxi? Thanks for your help
  9. Hi, I can hardly get my Saab340 to move. I have used the quick engine start, set the condition levers to max and have to set the power to max to get it to move at all. The screen shot shows 75% power but I'm not moving. Yes, Brakes are off. Same thing happens if I go through the whole checklist manually. What am I doing wrong? Cheers LJM
