  1. Oh it's nothing special really, A radeon 4670 I think it is. but I am using an asus crosshair (gaming mboard) with an unimpressivee 5200+ and 4 gb of Geil low latency memory in 4 banks Yea I was so suprised myself when I check the frames. I could never get this on that apparition that microsoft came out with. On the same system with vista and fsx and all manner of tweaking I was lucky to get 20 frames, that was both at locked and unlocked modes. I think that the key to good frame rates is not so much your graphics card buy what is beyond it. Motherboard / processer / memory etc. Nice talking John
  2. hehe your gonna love this, I have the rendering set to extreme and Im getting a steady 70fps :-) need to churn more stuff up Nice talking John
  3. Im already using Linux, Ubuntu 10.04 X64 as I've had the best success getting that working. I downloaded the Linux Demo from the website and got it working without too much difficulty. Here's what I did. open up the synaptic package manager and install the following libraries ia32-libs (if not already installed) libopenal1 (required) opened up terminal and changed to the following directory using following command cd /usr/lib32 then type sudo ln -s libopenal.so.1 libopenal.so.0 don't forget to enter your password then install and have fun. the demo worked fine with this. I have ordered the linux version so will have to wait for this to arrive. When it does I'll offer all the help I can. I don't have the beta version so can't help you out with that. If you need any further help I'd be more than happy to help. Nice talking John
  4. Hi guys, I've finally made the decision to migrate from fs9 and fsx to xplane. I am also changing my operating system to LInux. Fed up of paying MS for the same thing when I can get something better and more secure for free. Anyway Im trying to find a supplier in the UK that can provide me a copy of X-Plane for Linux. I know I can get it from Xplane.org or xplane.com but Im a bit wary of ordering stuff that has no tracking and 6 weeks is a long time when Im accustomed to receiving stuff withing 1 week. Any help with this would be mostly appreciated.
