  1. Can someone explain why I am getting an All License Slots used when this is the second time I am loading the program into XP 11. I have had to replace my MB, reformat my hard drive, and upgrade my Win 7 installation. Everything was working fine before the hardware and software changes. Both XP 10 and XP 11 were not touched during the exchange of MB and Hard drive. I upgraded to a SSD for my base system operations. I'm confused. Anyone have any answers for me, I'd appreciate the help.

  2. I have the newest version of Sky Maxx Pro and Real Wx Connector loaded on my system. Does MaxxFX do anything for me or is it redundant as SkyMaxxPro controls my textures? If it isn't needed I'd like to remove it from the directory.

  3. Hi, I am trying to update my airac, but I do not want to pay navigraph for waypoints, SIDS, and STARS.

    Aircraft: JARDesign A330

    Current Cycle: 1410

There is no sense in updating you AIRAC if you don't want the SIDS and STARS. You can find approach plates on line. The AIRAC is primarily SIDS and STARS. I agree with GamerNurd, get yourself a subscription to Navigraph. The cost is relatively cheap for a 1 year subscription and you can keep up to date on the AIRAC's as they update.

  4. How necessary is the motherboard system clock with regards to X Plane. Recently my MB has been experiencing problems with the system clock. I changed out the CMOS battery but that hasn't helped with the clock loosing time. I think it may be a mother board issue as I am having LAN drop outs now also ( I have to reset the LAN). Since the system clock has started loosing time, I now have issues with my X-Aviation payware and my FJS 732 aircraft not working in XP.

Is there any kind of fix, other than replacing the MB ( BTW I have a new MB ordered). Any kind of work around avail?

    Thanks for your help

  5. It's quite possible it's XSB related.

The plugin has had a rough run recently during it's update to 64bit.

I understand that a lot of work has been put in recently to fix bugs but I won't be surprised to see more.

I think it's worth trying X-Plane without XSB installed and see what happens.

    Thank you for your patience.

I'm going to remove the XSB plugin and give that a try. It is the only change I've made to XP since CMOS battery replacement.

In what folder did you install the X-Aviation products. They have to be in the X-Aviation folder and not in other folders.

My X-aviation products are in the correct folder. I have never made any changes to them since initial installation and they have always worked without problems.

I am beginning to think it is the XSB install that is creating my issues. I'll know more after this weekend when I have an opportunity to remove the XSB plugin and give it a try.

Thanks for the responses. I appreciate the help.

  6. I am experiencing an activation request for the Saab every time I start XP. The  activation goes through each and every time. It's just frustrating. The only thing I've done to my computer recently is replace the CMOS Battery on the MB. I'm using XP 10.36 64 bit and the only software change has been adding the XSB 1.3 plug-in.

Your help would greatly be appreciated.

  7. I've updated to v1.2 and have a question regarding silencing the autopilot alarm after you disconnect it or it faults. The pervious version worked well with the Saitek Panels Plug in and I could engage/disengage/silence the autopilot by mapping a key on my throttle (x-55) to the autopilot servos toggle. With the new update this mapping no longer works so I go to the center console and turn off autopilot there. But when I do that the autopilot disconnect alarm starts and I can't quite figure out how to clear it. The only way I have been able to silence is to engage the Autopilot again, which when I am on the ground seems silly. I know you don't support the Saitek Panels plugin and I am fine with using the aircraft the way it is now (which by the way is SUPERB!!!!). I just want  to silence that annoying AP Alarm.

Thanks for any help you can provide me with regards to this issue.

  8. I don't know if you have resolved this problem yet. But I had a similiar issue with the A340 SAAB. It turned out to be the security protection of Windows IE. I changed over to FirFox Mozilla and turned off my security firewall and virus checker and was able to dowload their products fine.

  9. Maybe someone can help me with regards to an issue that has recently popped up on my machine. This past weekend I was able to open X-Plane and SkyMaxx Pro worked great. Last night I attempted to open X-Plane and as part of the opening screen my SkyMaxx Activation key popped up. I thought maybe there had been an update so I entered my email and password and the activation screen went to activate. It returned an invalid password, unable to activate. I tried several more times and even went to X-Aviation and changed my password. nothing seemed to help. I even went so far as to re-install SkyMaxx again. Still the same issue. The only thing I have done to X-Plane and my machine was to update to newest version 10.36 of X-Plane.

I have an older version of X-Plane pre 10.36 than I keep as back up on another drive. When I started that version of X-Plane SkyMaxx works fine.

Does anyone know if there is a certificate issue with Ver10.36 and SkyMaxx V2.

I appreciate any help with regards to problem from someone more knowledgeable than myself. I also left a ticket with the X-aviation site to see if they could help.

  10. I did some more searching and found out additional information in SmartCockpit website. I'm still confused about the numerical readout on the EADI just above the degrees of bank indication. Next time I get that situation I'll get a snapshot of it so you can see what I am asking about.

  11. This is primarily a question for the developers of the SAAB 340. Is there a definitive source we I can go and get a description of what each display does. I am familiar with the EADI and EHSI, but I would love to find some information on specifics of operation. For example, the EADI has the speed marker on the left side. How is the speed determined with regards to Fast, Slow or at correct speed? Is it related to estimated arrival time at your destination? I noticed the other night while doing a flight I had a long climb out to reach altitude and I was using the AP Climb command. The speed indicator said I was on speed. Once leveled off it showed be fast, I played with the throttles and brought my speed to just at 200 IAS and the speed marker went back to on speed. What am I doing?

I notice every now and again I will get a flashing number just above the degrees of bank indication on the right side of the EADI, sometimes it flashes 107, another time it flashes 207. What is this number indicating?

What do the different AP displays indicate, I understand the green AP when the AP is engaged, But what is the difference with the flashing white AP and red AP. Is there a difference between dis-engaging the AP from the Control Colum and from the Center Console?

I would love to know how each of these instruments work and what they are capable of displaying in the current version of your SAAB 340.

I appreciate your help answering these questions.

  12. Jim,

I did some brief testing and cannot reproduce this as you described it.  What you are describing would obviously be incorrect, but I can't make it happen.  The lateral mode should change between VOR1 and VOR2 (which it did in my tests).  Are you sure when you selected NAV2 that it was a valid frequency and within range?

The TTG only indicates the DME time of NAV1 for the pilot side and NAV2 on the copilot side. So, selecting NAV2 will cause the TTG to show "---" on the pilot side. "---" will also show when the nav aid is out of range.

If you can provide more details I will test this again.  Please tell me where you were flying (ie. airports from and to), VORs selected and their frequencies, altitude, etc.

    Jim

I did another flight and was able to capture this screen shot. The flight was from KPBG to KBOS, I believe I had Plattsburg VOR (PLB) on 116.90 for Nav 1 radio and Burlington VOR (BTV) on 117.5 for Nav 2 radio. I was climbing up to FL170 having just crossed the BTV VOR. You'll notice that I have Nav S R selected which uses Nav Radio 2. The EADI continues to display VOR1 as Primary source of navigation input. The Nav station is valid as I am getting DME reporting and a From indication on the EHSI. I have Nav selected so I'm not in HDG mode. Does this information help you at all with explaining what is happening to me.

  13. Correct me if I'm wrong, but what I think you're seeing is people RESETTING the bleed air.  The reset switch is spring loaded and will snap back to center when you let go of the mouse button.

No he's definitely cutting off the Bleed controls, because he even talks about turning them back on when he is in climb out.

Turning the bleeds off prior to take-off will give you slightly better takeoff/climb performance.  Most jet AFMs will have takeoff calculations for bleeds ON and bleeds OFF.  Where this comes in handy is short runway/high pressure altitude situations.  Many small jets depart mountainous airports; i.e. Vail, Aspen, with the bleeds off.  Especially if they are at max weight for the conditions.

Other than that, it is not normal procedure to turn bleeds OFF for takeoff.

That's what I thought, so I have been following the procedures correctly.

I greatly appreciate your responses to my questions. It helps a great deal.

  14. Cameron,

I know he addressed it. I may be having a brain malfunction. I intend on returning to that thread and see if I can provide him the info he needs. I must be missing something. I intend to dig deeper and see what is the problem at my end. Just so everyone knows, this aircraft is superb. And even though I think I am having an issue, I love this bird to death!!! I purposely adjusted my Virtual Airlines routes so I can do nothing but fly this aircraft and get as many hours in it that I can!

Thanks for all the help everyone is attempting to provide me, I DO appreciate it greatly!

  15. Yes it was part of that thread, But you resolved my question regarding TTG. I'm trying to address the VOR 1 and VOR 2 display issue I am having in the EADI. The VOR 2 radio is selected using Nav S right with a strong signal and DME display on the EHSI. So I would presume the EADI should display VOR 2 as primary navigational control, yet I only see VOR 1.

  16. Can someone help me with using the Gust Lock. I know you have to select the small locking switch in order to move the Gust Lock into position. But I haven't been able to figure out how to do it. I move my mouse cursor over to the switch to move it out of the way. But the minute I go to pull the Gust Lock to ground position the locking switch moves back into place and I can't move the Gust Lock. Is there a sequence to doing this? Thanks in advance for you help.

  17. I have an issue with the EADI, the selected navigational aid never changes from VOR1. When I have AP on and select NAV S Left the system is using inputs from the #1 VOR radio. The EADI will display VOR1 as primary in the upper left corner. When I switch over to NAV S Right, inputs for navigation should be coming from #2 VOR radio, yet the EADI display continues to show VOR1. Navigation of the aircraft follows VOR 2 radio inputs as it should, it's just that the EADI display shows VOR1 as I stated. Any ideas on why that may be happening? Thank you in advance for your help.
