Please see this Facebook Xplane Dedicated user's video a look at what I and others are seeing and having a problem of.

Than you for your reply. I am not changing anything in the sim while flying. When flying at night every now and then a cloud brightens to white then fades after time. Hopefully the upcoming fix will solve my problem. Thank you. David Bruce

I've been noticing when flying at night in total darkness clouds will all of a sudden turn white and within time fade to black. Has as anyone else experienced this? And is there a fix coming for it?

I did as you instructed and the overcast looked just fine. It must be the problem of X Plane reading certain metars then from what I have been reading. I understand your program is just displaying what is ingested. I just hope X Plane can be tweaked for better realism for weather in the future. Then your programs will make the sim very realistic. Hi Frank, I just saw this post and have the same problem. I wanted to see what the Dense Particles looks like with an overcast sky and It clears my skies or leaves a cloud here and there. Where can I send my log text to if I can recreate this again tonight? I am trying to find the best looking overcast sky I can. I am using the 980ti with 6gb Nvidia card. Dave

I got the standard email stating V3 is out and where to get it, but I never received an email with a promotional code, and I own V2. Has it been sent out yet? And if so from who? The email I got was from X-Aviation. Dave

Hi Johnmaxx, Haven't chatted In a bit. I never spoke of the absence then appearance from the clouds. I was trying to figure why this was happening. Glad it's not just me and glad your working on it. Agrajag, I will let john lower some of your settings as I see sone are way to high. He's helped many settle xplane down and SMP to work together. I am surprised to see you have runways follow terrain contour as most have it off for scenery to look and be correct. Again for skymaxx best performance I will leave it to John. John I can't wait for the next update. Agrajag stay with SMP john will be able to help you. And as most x plane users know, we really need a new weather engine to make xplane the best sim and to make skymaxx the best it can be. In time the new weather engine will come. I've been where you are and we all are waiting. As always ask questions and post problems and most will help. Dave.

Agrajag, I was having a lot of those problems as other were too. If you have the NOAA weather plugin installed then deactivate it, as it calls for weather updates way too many times and you will have all those pauses. Without it, you will have pauses but not as many and for a very short time. (1-2 seconds versus 5-15seconds) I also found that I lowered the cloud distance and tweaked the other settings to lesson the amount of the pause as the program has to redraw each cloud separately each update, and the more detail and distance you have for the clouds, the more your computer has to compute. AS well the slower your computer you have the harder it will be for it to do these tasks. So try those thing's and see if it lessons the time of the pause and lessons the amount of pauses. It has for me. I still do get a long pause (5-7 secs) every now and then but not as much as before. Good luck Dave

Hmmm Ok then I do not know why after uninstalling NOAA WX and using real weather through X plane with XSB that Skymaxx isn't showing any clouds above about 5k. I only see clouds when taking off and landing. This is with NOAA not even in the plugins python script. I totally took it out. Dave

Yea as I saw your post I was reading something you wrote about a conflict with SASL... But I think I need SASL to fly the ramzzess 777....I'll wait till I hear more. But as I land the clouds come back, so its just cruising that the skies are clear when they shouldn't be

Cameron, i am tryinga flight right now with the real weather from x-plane 10. Its set to grab real-weather from the net and it does as I see the precip and clouds, but when flying the precip and clouds dissapear and become clear skies after takeoff. This is all while using Skymaxx and have the NOAA wx script not even loaded on start up. I notice after it downloads the button for the real weather moves to set weather uniformly. Dave

Camron and John i totally understand and will do what I can with skymaxx if its possible to make my flying as best for myself. Thank you for your responses and thank you again for the quick replies and updates to the software. I never meant this response as a dig on the software, rather trying to find out if there was something I was doing wrong or something i needed to do. Dave

I know your looking in the future for a new weather injector, but do you think until then you may find a good compromise update to have this work with the noaa app? Dave

Cameron, I appreciate all you guys have done. But I must still say, I have the latest update, have been using this since day 1. use NOAA and have since even tried x-plane on default settings hoping skymaxx would work better and it just doesn't. I find, areas where there is no precip on radar and just clouds the pause is about 2-7 seconds. When precip is on radar but flying above it and not through it there are constant 1-3 second pauses for unknown reasons. But when a major weather update is called for from x-plane and precip is around its still a good 10+ seconds. I don't know what else I can do. I see others having the same problems. 1.2 has been better but it's taking the realism of flying a step back with the pauses. I have stated before. I have the following: INTEL Core i7-3770K @3.5 clocked to 4.2 16 GB of ram installed 64-bit Windows Geoforce GTX 780 with 4 GB latest driver of 331.82 (Note, this is my sim gaming computer) no other programs are running. This may be for the X-Plane forum, I do note in my task manager X-plane is only using 3gb of ram when flying with the 64-bit version. i may need to see if this is normal and if not then why this is. I have 55% more memory available it says to use and thought X-plane would use as much as it could. Your product is amazing, I appreciate the work you have done. But for me. I must also wait until someday the pauses are minimized much more. As I type my sim is paused at FL450 all clouds below us with precip below and just had a pause of 15 seconds. Then 15 seconds later a small 3 second pause.. I will continue to read the forums on ways people may find to minimize this problem. Still think the product is a step up for X-plane just a step down for me for the realism with the pausing.

First time seeing a mix of Cumulus and Cirrus in the sky at the same time. Does this look correct? Also is there a page to see pictures of the 3 cirrus textures? Dave

I've encountered the same thing. Cloudy sky with sun shining on the water. Also sometimes with rain.

Cameron, I think it may have been a bad driver install. I just reinstalled the latest driver and am having great FPS and very short if at all weather updates from KJAX to KSAN. I will let you know If I run into any other snags. But as of now, been flying over 2 hrs and no problems and great FPS. Thank you. Dave P.S on a 1 monitor set up. I think the SASL only loads when I fly the Ramzzess 777. Its not a plugin in my resources/Plugins folder.

It's built as follows: Prodigy Computer GPU: GeoForce GTX 780 4GB RAM DRIVER: 331.82 (newest) CPU: Intel Core i7-3770K @3.5GHz Clocked to 4.5 GHz (By the X-Force Company) Memory: 16GB RAM Resolution: 1920 x 1080, 60 Hz Windows 7 Home Premium I will also let Wade know as well. This computer should be plenty strong enough to handle this. I only have the following plugins installed using X-palne 10 64-bit: Xsquawkbox 64-bit, NOAA Weather, Gizmo64, Skymaxx pro, Airtrack FJCC_UFMC Python Interface XAcars Xpuipc XsaitekPanels Sasl Any help from your end would be great.
