pandmbake Posted August 25, 2010 Report Posted August 25, 2010 Hello All!Well, after MANY years of MSFS (since I got my first computer in 1994...using MSFS 5.1), I am an "official" X-Plane convert! I will continue to use the Microsoft stuff (I run both FS9 and FSX), but man, I just had an EXTREMELY satisfying flight with X-Plane, from KBOS to KPVD in heavy weather on VATSIM with X-Squawkbox in the X-Aviation MU-2. Pure joy. There is something that I can't describe about the experience of flying with X-Plane that I just don't get with MSFS...not sure what it is (probably the flight models), but it's good. ;DThe only negative thing about the flight was almost running into a herd of deer on the ramp at KPVD. I've seen the deer at other more rural airports, but not usually at the larger fields like KPVD. Is there a way to "disable" the deer at larger, commercial airports? I don't want to do away with them completely, just at the larger airports. Thanks, and here's to many more awesome X-Plane flights!!Paul Quote
samen Posted August 25, 2010 Report Posted August 25, 2010 When you are flying around large airports you can disable the draw deers and birds in nice weather in the rendering options. Although you will not get any bird strikes Quote
Oliver Posted August 25, 2010 Report Posted August 25, 2010 Yup do what Samen says and you're good. Just turn it off and right after takeoff turn it back on so birdstrikes are still enabled and back off right before landing Quote
