brucie1dog Posted April 23, 2016 Report Posted April 23, 2016 My computer was just repaired by the Apple Store. I tried to start X-Plane and these are the screens that appeared. So is this activation that is asking for the serial number for SkyMaxx? Where can I get the serial number? Drawing a blank! Andy Quote
Defiance_co Posted April 23, 2016 Report Posted April 23, 2016 (edited) Hiya, If you're sure you've got a slot to spare I would de-install it using the SMP installer, it will ask you to remove all etc Once that's done, re run installer I notice in the pics, the activation pic seems fine Do you mean smp installs correct and then you get the popup for serial ? Tony ps : If you choose to redo the install, extract the zip/rar first, then use extracted parts for the install Had a few probs and Cameron or Ben suggested unzip/rar first, and not to use the installer in a zipped state (hope that makes sense) Edited April 23, 2016 by Defiance_co added text Quote
brucie1dog Posted April 24, 2016 Author Report Posted April 24, 2016 Hi Tony, Just uninstalled and reinstalled. Still get the same screens. I don't think that's X-Plane asking for the serial number? Andy Quote
brucie1dog Posted April 24, 2016 Author Report Posted April 24, 2016 I may not be as technical as you are. I did an uninstall and then did and un zip and a reinstall. I'll try out again. Quote
brucie1dog Posted April 24, 2016 Author Report Posted April 24, 2016 I still get those screens after I do the uninstall and before I do the reinstall. I am wondering now if they are X-Plane Screens. Quote
Defiance_co Posted April 24, 2016 Report Posted April 24, 2016 (edited) The x-plane serial is in 4 digit blocks, 6 blocks in all Well it is for my online digi version Have you got a clean vanilla x-plane saved anywhere ? Edit : Should of said, going by the pics that's not a smp activation code input request anyways If you have x-plane dvd version maybe your code input differs to mine So if your code for x-plane isn't in blocks then try it, but looking at it the problem isn't smp activation Edited April 24, 2016 by Defiance_co added text Quote
brucie1dog Posted April 24, 2016 Author Report Posted April 24, 2016 Sou you are thinking that is an X-Plane screen and not X-Aviation/Pilot screen? I have to be honest and say I am not even where I would get X_Plane Serial number from. I just went through the DVD s and the envelope it came and I don't see a serial number. I do have the X-Plane DVDs. I am trying to avoid reinstallation. Quote
Defiance_co Posted April 24, 2016 Report Posted April 24, 2016 Yeah, I messed up my smp installs from buying it in march lol So i sure know that sceeny isn't a smp one Is there anything recent you've added into the game ? Not having the dvd version, do you only get so many installs ? As being on the digi download version i'd guess i've downloaded the darn sim 20 times hehe The only other way is kind of a repair in x-plane, alas, it basicly re-downloads all the scenery/global airports in my case, which equates to not much faster than a total full install in my case I'll have a think while you reply Quote
Defiance_co Posted April 24, 2016 Report Posted April 24, 2016 (edited) That box sure does look like it's to do with x-plane, had a good zoom in on them If it was smp, as you get into the game main part eg in a plane, a box top left pops up, with your email addy and a pw slot Unless you've added something needing a pw recent it only points to x-plane itself Edited April 24, 2016 by Defiance_co spellingz Quote
Defiance_co Posted April 24, 2016 Report Posted April 24, 2016 You could try this, sometimes after a fresh x-plane install, i have to allow it access to the fw and obviously the net ............. So a popup windows conx box warning comes up, sometimes i alt/tab out, but unless something's running besides the game alt/tab does nothing, so i press windows key and R key That will allow alt/tabbing to work Load game up, when that box comes up, press windows key and r key to get the run box up, then see if a box is there asking for net access for the game Longshot, all's i got at the moment Quote
