I am fairly new to x-plane, only been using it on and off for about two months. I have some experience with FSX and still have that running.

Unlike FSX I am frustrated by the various gauges layouts and location of the autopilot controls in x-plane which seem very obscure despite installing several different aircraft. Also not found any aircraft yet that give a descriptive of panel and gauges layout which would be a great help.

I recently came across an article here by Paul Jordan (X-Plane 10 ILS Autopilot Landing Tutorial) in which he used the 1963 Piper Commanche 250 by Heinz Dzuiurowitz (who I believe is no longer alive) and I have just purchased that from x-plane.org. and for the first time I have a panel layout which is familiar and in which I can locate the controls I need (I'm sure there are others but I just haven't found them yet). I have made a couple of test flights using Pauls post which worked OK. This is going to make my learning curve on x-plane a lot easier.

To get back to the purpose of my post I have tried to save the situation so I can go back to the flight. I would also like to replicate some of the ILS landings I have used in fsx but it seems x-plane does not save a "flight" in the same way. Would welcome any advice on how to make it easier to reload a previous flight so I don't have to keep entering the same data in the controls.

Also, if anyone can suggest any aircraft that that have a good clear panel/gauge layout similar to the Heinz Dzuiurowitz model I would really appreciate it.

Thanks
