Is it possible to use quick-looks without transition?

Is it possible to hack into the quick looks in order to set transition time to 0?

I really like the quick looks (don't want to go for another plugin with tons of complicated settings) - but on a big screen the transition can give you headaches and awful screen tearing.

 

Ideas?
