mstram Posted July 3, 2010 Report Posted July 3, 2010 Greetings,Is there a shortcut key for water rudders (on floatplanes) ?Maybe it's named something other than "water rudders"?Or otherwise, maybe the shortcut can be implemented through the python interface? Also, I've added a water rudder handle to the C180J floatplane, but it doesn't seem to have any effect. Is there a setting in Planemaker I need to set?thxMike Quote
Lukasz Posted July 4, 2010 Report Posted July 4, 2010 I'm on X-Plane v.9.55.Fire up Plane Maker and go to standard -> landing gear -> gear data. There you'll find a section about water rudder. For one to work, you have to set at least area (how big it is) and deflection (how many degrees it can be moved from centerline). Also it may be a good idea to set the location variables, to place the rudder where it should be, with regards to the aircraft's shape.I wasn't able to find any water rudder keypress inside of the entire X-Plane's list of possible key commands, so I guess all you need, is to set it in Plane Maker and have a handle in cockpit. mstram Posted July 20, 2010 Author Report Posted July 20, 2010 Fyi a shortcut / dataref can be created from python using the XPLMCreateCommand.I've attached the script, it creates two new datarefs :sim/flight_controls/water_rudders_downsim/flight_controls/water_rudders_upPI_WaterRuddersCommands.py Quote
