Problem with unpacking of vcredist during reinstall

Hello,

 

I wanted to upgrade from 1.1 to 1.2 today and therefore uninstalled 1.1. Upon installing 1.2, my installer hangs about 1 min after the "unpacking vcredist_64x.exe" message is displayed ("program not responding").

I then assumed that I would be better off by installing 1.1 first and then the 1.2 upgrade on top of it. However, with the install of 1.1 I ran into exactly the same problem, although I managed to install 1.1 without any problems about a week ago when I first bought the product. So now I can't run any version :-(

 

I tried to download the most recent vcredist files (2012) from Microsoft website but to no avail. I should note that there hasn't been any update of my WIN7 64bit OS between my initial install of SMP and today.

For what it's worth, I checked the size of the downloaded file in the SKM directory and it's about 680 KB large, apparently a lot smaller than the file I downloaded from MSFT, is this normal ?

After another attempt I finally succeeded in installing 1.2 ! 

 

Sorry for having bothered you guys, but I had the impression the unpacking of the vcredist file took much longer than with 1.1; in addition the "not responding" message and prolonged inactivity of my HDD made me panick a bit too soon I guess.

 

Everything fine now :-)
