Fuel Transfer Issue

During a long flight I have been unable to transfer fuel.  The XFER Fuel is on, but it seems to run only off the left tank.  Been thru the manual and have not found anything in ref to this.

I tested and it runs in both directions. It will transfer fuel from the filled tank to the less one. Independently if it is left or right. check out on land to do it.
