boingboing Posted July 28, 2013 Report Posted July 28, 2013 Many of you might have seen my barely finished CS100 on the download manger. I originally thought that would be that, but 79carboy and Michael Chang convinced me otherwise Thanks to them, I've decided to continue it and work with 79carboy and his team to make this as an aircraft accurate as possible. I'll update when thee is something worth updating about. Quote
Michael_Chang Posted July 28, 2013 Report Posted July 28, 2013 that's good to hear! I Look forward to watching this project grow! if you need anything, feel free to let me know! I suggest that you use real photos as much as possible for building objects. Quote
boingboing Posted July 28, 2013 Author Report Posted July 28, 2013 Ok, thank you! The only problem with real pictures, is it is a bit difficult finding them as the plane hasn't flown yet so i'm relying more on CGI representations. do you thinks they are detailed enough to use? Quote
Michael_Chang Posted July 28, 2013 Report Posted July 28, 2013 I think they should be fine for now, but I encourage you to get as many real photos as possible as soon as possible, because I find them to be very helpful Quote
boingboing Posted July 28, 2013 Author Report Posted July 28, 2013 two things. first if anyone lives near or works at YMX and can get me a some of good shot of the CS100 prototype i'd be really grateful. Second, how does one import a plane-maker model into blender? Quote
Michael_Chang Posted July 28, 2013 Report Posted July 28, 2013 two things. first if anyone lives near or works at YMX and can get me a some of good shot of the CS100 prototype i'd be really grateful. Second, how does one import a plane-maker model into blender? you gotta get the import/export scripts, I like to use these ones, the ones called "x-plane2blender" http://marginal.org.uk/x-planescenery/tools.html After that, I suggest you watch Danklaue's amazing youtube planemaker and blender tutorials, be sure to pay close attention, I got a lot of info out of those vids. Michael_Chang Posted July 28, 2013 Report Posted July 28, 2013 I think that this image may be a lot more useful than appears, it shows the locations of all the rivets/support structures of the fuselage and also shows a cross section of the flap drive arm, which will help create a good understanding of how the flaps actually move. This is the best Cseries side shot I could find Good luck Quote
Jordan P. Posted July 29, 2013 Report Posted July 29, 2013 (edited) Congrats good luck i am also planning to do the C-Series with a 3d cockpit and all but i guess there will be 2 I have lots of info from some people from the inside, PM me Edited July 29, 2013 by Remlap Quote
