I am very brand new to this, and am not a pilot, but figured it would be a good starting point of interest.  I'm following my manual and it has me complete a flight from KSEA and it provides me the tower com radio frequency, but how do I find the com radio frequency for any airport?  Say I wanted to depart from KFTW, where do I go to find the Tower Com Radio Frequency?  Thanks in advance.

Don't know if it's the same for xp10, but for xp9 go into Location/Local Map and left click on the airport you're at. A large red circle should appear around it, and on the upper right corner a box opens with all the freqs for that airport in it.

I believe it's the same way for xp10. http://www.x-plane.com/files/manuals/X-Plane_10_Desktop_manual.pdf

Page 87 "Finding The Frequencies."

Step by step guide (for xp10) taken from http://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?showtopic=55051&page=5

"1. Dial in ATIS frequency and get the weather, set your altimeter and know which runway is active.

2. Press ENTER and file a flight plan
3. Dial in Clearance Delivery frequency, press Enter and get your clearance (press enter and read it back) - if no clearance, contact Ground or Tower, in that order
4. Dial in Ground frequency - press Enter and get taxi instructions (there is no push back or engine start request at present, but I bet it will be added later)
5. Stay on Ground frequency until told to contact Tower

Follow the yellow line that appears to the end of the yellow line (eg if you are crossing runways, the line will end at the runway crossing). You will then get permission to cross and the line will then appear to the next runway until you get to your departure runway). alway pull up tp the end of the yellow line, regardless of where the scenery tells you to stop. ATC doesn't know about scenery, it only knows about the yellow line.

6. Dial in tower frequency, press Enter

and so on. - you get the picture - use the radios as you would in a real aircraft. find the frequencies on charts (the X-plane 10 local map has them)"

Just to add to your initial question, if you want to find the freqs for an airport you intend to arrive at, at the preparation stage before you start your flight you must move your aircraft to either that airport, or one very close to it, by selecting Location/Select Global Airport. That way it appears in Location/Local Map and you can then zoom in on it and left click to get the red circle and the box with the freqs in it. Make a note of them, and then move your aircraft to the airport you intend to fly from, and begin your flight from that point onwards.

I'm using X-Plane 10.  Thank you for the replies.  So I've pulled up the map and highlighted the airport in red, but I still don't see the COM frequency.  In the X-Plane manual, it says the KSEA frequency is 128.0; however, I don't see that frequency listed on my local map.  I attached a screenshot which hill help.  Thanks again.

In case anyone else reads this thread later, for xp9 you don't need to know any of the airport frequencies.  Just hit Enter, and a list of radio actions comes up. You just select whichever action you require. No need to go anywhere near the radios in the cockpit.

By the same token, no yellow taxi line appears, so don't bother looking. :)

Thanks Nicola. It does indeed work the same way for X-plane 10, although I just spent half an hour trying to left click on the name of the airport to bring up the ATC frequencies without success. I was clicking all over the screen - eventually I found it. The target area you have to click on is actually a tiny blue point just above the airport name. On the airport I was using, it was in the middle of one of the runways (also shown in blue) and just about impossible to see. …Hope this saves someone some time.

Cheers,  Algie.
