sichars1968 Posted December 20, 2012 Report Posted December 20, 2012 Hi Javier You say in the manual to set the aileron trim to 2 dots left which I am doing, however the aircraft is still lowering the right wing by quite a way. I apply more left aileron trim and by the time I have trimmed for wings level the aileron trim tab is showing way off the scale on the left side. I know this is something X-Plane tends to over-do, but should I be using some rudder trim as well once airborne to counter some of this, as seems to be the general advice with GA aircraft? Regards Simon Quote
Japo32 Posted December 20, 2012 Report Posted December 20, 2012 I usually put the trim far to the right.. and it goes well. BUT of course, once I lower the thrust I have to trim back again to the left. Are you using the TTL computers? If not you have more torque.. so more force to right.Usually with that trim I fly correctly.. but I am touching a little the surfaces of control (not the trims.. but ailerons and elevators.. and ajusting the CG.In 1.01 will be out. But the plane still goes to the right if you don't trim. One thing I do is put the solutions per frame to 2 instead 1. I think it flies better. Quote
sichars1968 Posted December 21, 2012 Author Report Posted December 21, 2012 I assume that you mean you trim far to the left as the props are CCW? I usually have the TTL comps on. I will try flight models per frame to 2 and see what I think. On the whole though a very nice add on and I look forward to the update in due course. Again I have to applaud the usual excellent support from you and Cameron. Many thanks Simon Quote
cessna729 Posted December 21, 2012 Report Posted December 21, 2012 I assume that you mean you trim far to the left as the props are CCW?Never actually got to fly a BAe-32, but I believe the fact that the BAe-31/32 had both props CCW and the right engine as the "critical engine" so much so that for the BAe-41 they decided to have the engines rotating in oposite directions:That fact IMHO, gives Javier's BAe-32 "character" ok so maybe the right wing drops a little as the aircaft leaves "ground effect", but that add's to the "emersive effect" of his model mimicking "real life". So, I hope he keeps it in. cessna729. Quote
Japo32 Posted December 21, 2012 Report Posted December 21, 2012 (edited) I will!! Read the manual. Page 59 in teh copyrights: "This plane is not certified by Bae Systems and not pretend to" I am based in the plane in lot of things but xplane is not the reality. It has really great things that are like the real thing, but others that are less or over. This is one of the over. I said before in other place: In real life we have 4 hands piloting the planes. Here we have only 2. We can put a hand in a knob we are not seeing and the other eye in the front window to look outside. In X-Plane not. In X-Plane we don't have any real failure - maintenance system by default, in real life you have to take care of that.So my plane will never be the same as the real one (and that is why "not pretend to" because limitations of be seated in our houses in front a computer. I started building planes for sensations to be flying. For me the soul of my planes are not in the systems. I am tired seeing planes full of good modelling systems. You can buy any in FSX, and now comming to X-Plane. While there are people that concentrates in that only, I try to do my best there, but always i put more energy in the SENSATIONS to be seat in the cockpit. That is why I made the rain fx, fog, ice, good texturing... and want to leave the over right wing drop even is over-done by xplane, because for me is a challenge in each take off (well not so much once you learned it). sichars1968 Posted December 21, 2012 Author Report Posted December 21, 2012 Javier That is all fine by me, I was only bringing up the aileron trim issue as it goes off the scale and it might be something you wanted to correct in a future update. I absolutely applaud this approach to your creations for X-Plane, I much prefer to actually fly the aircraft than have the autopilot do everything for me. The fact that I have purchased the Jetstream, CRJ and Mentor says enough about the quality of your aircraft, the excellent support you offer to customers just makes the experience even better. I am sure when I get used to the little quirks of the Jetstream I will really enjoy flying it. Keep up all the good work and have a great Christmas. Simon Quote
