i<3xplane10 Posted November 24, 2012 Report Posted November 24, 2012 (edited) For a while now I have been flying around certain areas where the roads just seem to disappear, however i know they're supposed to be there ( such as the dense roads near LOWI which aren't appearing for me). If anyone has any ideas that would be fantastic.I am using XP10.20b3 Edited November 24, 2012 by i<3xplane10 Quote
MdMax Posted November 25, 2012 Report Posted November 25, 2012 It depends on your rendering options: number of roadshttp://www.x-plane.com/?article=configuring-the-rendering-optionsDid you change these settings ? Quote
Ryan M. Posted November 26, 2012 Report Posted November 26, 2012 Actually, I think it's the terrain. The roads in x-plane are designed to be flat, and on mountainous terrains, it'll go through the mountains. Quote
alpilotx Posted November 26, 2012 Report Posted November 26, 2012 No, in X-Plane 10 the roads are not designed to be flat, but to be "draped" dynamically on the landscape. So no, they - usually - should not disappear in mountains. Quote
i<3xplane10 Posted November 27, 2012 Author Report Posted November 27, 2012 These roads disappear even on perfectly flat land. Quote
i<3xplane10 Posted November 27, 2012 Author Report Posted November 27, 2012 I have roads on extreme. Quote
alpilotx Posted November 27, 2012 Report Posted November 27, 2012 Roads (and almost all other art assets) can be "removed" dynamically with add-on scenery by using so called exclusion zones (XP9, this was the case with the default LOWI scenery, which removed roads in a rectangular area surrounding LOWI). Maybe this is the case here with you ... Quote
i<3xplane10 Posted November 27, 2012 Author Report Posted November 27, 2012 Is there any way to remove these "exclusion zones". Quote
chris k Posted November 28, 2012 Report Posted November 28, 2012 YesMethod 1: Import the LOWI custom scenery DSF into WED, find the exclusion, delete It, Export Scenery Pack.WED: http://developer.x-plane.com/tools/worldeditor/Method 2: Use OE (Overlay Editor), Go to the LOWI Custom Scenery, Select Exclusion, Delete (sorry, not too familliar with OE, but it also works)OE: http://marginal.org.uk/x-planescenery/tools.html- CK 1 Quote
i<3xplane10 Posted November 28, 2012 Author Report Posted November 28, 2012 Thanks, I will try this. Quote
