LoadClear Posted November 5, 2012 Report Posted November 5, 2012 Hey all, new here and really considering getting X-Plane.I'm currently in Air Force flight training in Pensacola. I've completed the first half flying the T-6 and will be moving into the T-1A pretty quick. In preparation prior to stepping to the jet, we student pilot and navigators tend to do alot of "chair flying" at home and from what I've read and seen online, X-Plane may be a cool/fairly realistic way to get a glance at the airport environment, continue to work on comms, etc. Doesnt look like the T-1 is in the list of aircraft X-Plane has, but instrument flying is our bread and butter most of the time but we do fly some low-levels. These low levels are published as military training routes in either VR, SR, or IR routes. In X-Plane, how accurate is the terrain, towers, and ground mapping? I don't expect to be able to file a flight plan for the low level, but just curious if I'll have any sort of capability on something like this? I did a search first but it yielded no results. Thanks, I'll probably be picking up a copy of X-Plane tomorrow. Looking forward to flying with you guys!Ryan Quote
