johnjjr Posted November 3, 2012 Report Posted November 3, 2012 I'm running x plane 10.10 and I just bought the Garmin 530 gps for the bk117. I installed it per the instructions and only loaded the files and plugins for x plane 10. When asked I pionted to the x plane folder for the install and now I've got problems. The gps screen is dark and unresponsive. I tried to power up the unit by the switch and nothing-dead. Also there are not any of the plugins loaded up under the plugin menu. Did I do something wrong in the install? Maybe a plugin file is missing from the plugin folder-but which one? The install was automatic and supposed to place everything properly. Can someone please tell me step by step how to install this correctly to get this to work? Thanks Quote
giacer Posted November 3, 2012 Report Posted November 3, 2012 I had a similar problem some time ago (GNS430) in my case it was just low instruments lighting...Try to increasing instruments lighting, by pressing the knob in this picturealso valid to other aircraft Quote
johnjjr Posted November 4, 2012 Author Report Posted November 4, 2012 Ok a update-I think I have fixed it. I had a missing file in the plugins folder of x plane 10. For some reason it just didn't install. What I did was download the x plane 9 demo and loaded it on a different drive. Then I installed the garmin 530 in x plane 9. I then found the missing file in the plugins folder. I just copied and pasted it to the plugins folder of x plane 10. Everything is working fine right now. Thanks Quote
