Jordan P. Posted September 8, 2012 Author Report Posted September 8, 2012 Well i wanted to see if there was anyway but reinstall but everyone just said reinstall so i renamed my old folder Xbackup then i reinstalled then before i moved my files over to the new one i updated. It might be one of the files i had but if i have to do this every updated then so be it. Also it didn't take long because i just used the old world scenery and moved it. If there is a way to fugure out which file made it not work i would love to know? Quote
larjeet Posted September 9, 2012 Report Posted September 9, 2012 if you have two drives or two partitions move your Xbackup folder to the seperate drive or partition rename it to Xplane 10 . now when you run the updater it will ask you which Xplane 10 you want to update ie:C: Xplane10 or D: Xplane 10 . Check the one you want to update this way you can run the updater on both version and check to see if the version without the add ons updates . I wouldn't think that any addon files would prevent it from updateing as the updater compares your version with the one on the update server and will ask you if you want to replace any files that have been modified . One nice thing about Xplane as compared to FSX is that if you mistakenly delete a file you can run the updater and it will replace the missing files . The updater does not touch Add on aircraft or scenery files. Also if you have tried a Beta and are not happy with it just uncheck the check for beta and it will revert you back to the last Stable release . Try that with FSX and you will have to reinstall erasing all your add ons 1 Quote
