maestrogn
A newbie here trying to switch over to XPlane 10 from MSFS X.It takes forever to load the demo. During the load-in, if any key is pressed or the mouse is moved, the load-in fails and I have to get out of it with the Task Manager. If I stay away from the machine the program will finally work with the 747 sitting there running and ready to go. I set up the CH Yoke and it reads the button presses, etc. But, once I'm on the main screen, nothing on either the keyboard or the yoke buttons or other axis (except the yoke itself) will work. Pressing F2 to apply throttles does nothing. So, there it is -- but a huge frustration because I'd like to fly it. Please help.maestrognamd phenom II x4 9850MSI 7850TM-E45 MS 75494 GHz RAM
larjeet
Did you run the updater if not try running the updater
maestrogn
Will do. However, where do I find the Updater?I'm having chip cooling problems (soon to be rectified with a far more robust cooler) and it has been pointed out to me that I may be experiencing severe processor throttling and that could be the problem with X-Plane. I'll have the new cooler later this week and will then repost. The machine will presently run real slow and even pause for periods of up to 45 seconds -- obviously, not an environment where something like X-Plane 10 can operate.mgn
chris k
Here's the Updater/Installer.Once you have the Demo installed, you can use this to keep it up to date/repair/upgrade to the latest beta/etc.http://www.x-plane.com/downloads/x-plane_10_installer-updater/- CK. Ryan M.
What version are you running now? Here's a helpful link:http://www.x-plane.com/support/landing/
maestrogn
chris k and rjm22:Thanks for your replies. I was rebuilding the desktop and installing Win 7 (quite a journey) during the last several days, hence my absence.I have the latest version of XP 10 demo and still have the same symptoms. Also, please note that, because I didn't receive any emails saying that this topic had replies (is there a toggle for that?), I opened a new topic last night with a lot more information. This is very baffling.mgn
Jordan P.
Well it might be that you arnT connecting the yoke before you start x-plane because if you don't do that it won't work! Then again it might not be this problem but it is worth a try.
