When following the BEFORE TAKE-OFF CHECK LIST procedure, I happen to read this:

Light & Strobes ........................... As Required

Fuel Crossflow .......................................... Off

IGNITION / ANTI-ICE ... .............. As Required

Flight Attendant .................................. Advised

Transponder / TCAS ........... ON / As Required

Radar .......................................... As Required

CAS .... ......................... Checked and Cleared

Bugs ... .............................................. (Review)

What does CAS stand for (CALIBRATED AIR SPEED, by chance)?

Then, how can I set the Fuel crossflow to Off position?

CAS is Crew Alerting System. As in EICAS = Engine Instrument and Crew Alerting System, which is the two central displays.

It means you should check the yellow warning messages on the left and the white status messages on the right EICAS display and take any messages into consideration.

The Fuel crossflow switch is in the overhead panel, in the fuel panel: The center switch of the top row is the gravity crossflow (which is simulated including the influence of sideslip!!!!) and the center switch in the bottom row is the powered (pumped) crossflow. Both should be dark.
