save flight with engines running

Is there a way to save an approach, 10 miles out, with the engines running? I want to practice landings but don't want to fly a circuit every time. When I save a flight, the engines are always off.

I'm new to X-plane and to the Saab (had the opportunity to fly in a Kenya Airways 340 from Milindi to Lamu Island!).
