Sim Commands vs TBM 900 Command

I am in the process of configuring my Bravo Alpha and Throttle hardware for use with TBM 900. I am using a monitor to look at the events that are occurring when using the Virtual Auto Pilot buttons. I notice that there are Sim and TBM 900 events? My question :

1. Do you use the Sim event and that triggers a custom TBM 900 Event

or

2. Do you use the Sim event followed by the custom TBM 900 Event
