jssetzer Posted May 27, 2011 Report Posted May 27, 2011 I have been trying and trying to figure out why I can't get one of my engines to restart after a flight. I started up from cold and dark then flew to my destination without any problems. Taxi'd and shut down the engines, not the APU as I was planning a return trip and was using it for power and AC. When it came time for restart I could not get the #2 engine to spool up at all. ITT was at 108, which if I remember right is something that would need to cool down during the start process before introducing fuel. I tried the #1 engine and let the ITT cool down with the engine spooling and started with no problem. Still after using APU bleed air, and even tried a cross-bleed start from the #1 engine, nothing. Packs were off during every start fyi... any ideas?
philipp Posted May 27, 2011 Report Posted May 27, 2011 You need at least 85%N2 on the other engine to produce enough bleed air pressure for a cross-start. This is explained in the manual.Philipp
jssetzer Posted May 27, 2011 Author Report Posted May 27, 2011 Shouldn't I be able to do a normal restart with just the APU though?
Japo32 Posted May 27, 2011 Report Posted May 27, 2011 yes.. sure.. and I have done that so many times.. so you shouldn't have any problem in that... unless you have an issue there. But I have tested many times without any problem.. even starting engines in flight.
