Hey Guys, its me....again :)

I bought a new Hard Drive for my Macbook Pro a couple of days ago, and replaced my old one with it today. I re-installed Mac OSX 10.6.7 and X-plane 9 from the CD's. After the installation finished, I downloaded the Updater for Mac, opened it, and located my X-Plane folder inside the Applications folder. I then clicked continue and the Updater told me its contacting www.x-plane.com to find a update server. That screen stays there and nothing happens, no matter how long I wait.

I tried it with the "beta-box" checked and unchecked. Also, I have perfectly fine internet connection. Is anyone experiencing the same problem or are the servers down at Austin's website

One off-topic question. I recently scratched my Disk 1 pretty badly because I moved my laptop while the CD was spinning. Do i have to buy a new copy of X-Plane or can i contact Austin and ask him to send me a new copy if I send him my scratched copy?

Thanks,

FlorianR

Try moving the X-Plane 9 folder to the desktop.  Laminar said something about that once.  Also, try putting the updater in the XP9 folder.

As for your second question, I would recommend making a .dmg of the disk using Disk Utility.  That way you will never have to put the disk in the drive again.

Cheers

Hhmm, did as you told me, but still no luck. Does anybody know if the servers are down, maybe?

I just contacted X-Plane.com customer service and they told me to turn my firewall off. No still positive results. Maybe this is because of a bad installation. I got several error messages while installing and so I ordered a new copy of Disc 1 today. Hope still up :)!
