TBM900 not communicating with ACARS

When using ACARS you must have your parking brake set at the gate. When I set the parking brake on the TBM900 I follow the instructions by setting the parking brake knob and setting the tow brakes, and it shows on the panel that the parking brake is set, but when I try to engage ACARS it will not recognize the plane. I purchased the plane 2 weeks ago so I assume I have the latest version. I love the plane, it makes me a better pilot!
