russell.bynum Posted November 21, 2019 Report Posted November 21, 2019 Scenario: 2 Windows 10 Home PC's (1903) running X-Plane 11.40r2. We are on a LAN. Same subnet (192.168.0.x) Plugged into the same hub. We have tried this with the Windows Firewall disabled...no change in behavior. We trying to play in multiplayer mode. This has worked in the past, but stopped working at some point. The problem: We see each other on the map. The other player can see me visually, including when I taxi my aircraft around. I can't see him visually. If he taxis over close to me, I can hear his engine, but I can't see him. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Quote
russell.bynum Posted November 21, 2019 Author Report Posted November 21, 2019 I forgot to mention: we've tried several aircraft...always the stock aircraft that come with X-Plane. Most recently we tried the Cirrus Jet and the Cessna 172. We've tried with both of us flying the same aircraft and with us flying different aircraft. Quote
russell.bynum Posted November 22, 2019 Author Report Posted November 22, 2019 OK, I solved this one on my own. I'm running the PilotEdge plugin. (Live, professional ATC. IMO, it's awesome.) Even though I wasn't connected to PilotEdge, some how it's presence is why I wasn't visible. The way I figured that out: I installed PE on the other computer (just trying to eliminate variables) and as soon as I did that, his aircraft disappeared. If you're a PilotEdge user and you have this problem, you can just move the PilotEdge folder out of resources\plugins (I just stuck it on the desktop) when you want to do multiplayer. Then copy it back in when you want to fly with PE. I'm not sure what would happen if we were both running PE and connected to the PilotEdge system. Presumably, then we would both show up. I may sign him up for a free account and see what happens. Quote
