TBM 900 Brakes not working.

I just purchased the TBM 900 and love what I see so far but my brakes don't seem to work at all.

I have "regular effort" brakes mapped to the trigger on my flight stick.  The yellow bars crawl up the sides of the screen and the animated pedals depress when I activate the trigger but the plane never slows down at all.  I did a search and saw other having trouble with this in earlier versions but I have version 1.1.8 because I just bought it a couple of hours ago.  Any help would be appreciated.
