stefa.rossi Posted January 19, 2011 Report Posted January 19, 2011 Hello everybody,I'd like to buy a low-cost joystick for X-Plane 9, to use with my MacBook Pro.I found this - the Saitek 109445 -, do you think it should work with Mac and with X-Plane 9?Of course I appreciate any opinion, thank you! UH-60 Blackhawk Posted January 19, 2011 Report Posted January 19, 2011 I don't know for sure if it does, but on amazon the one I have is much cheaper than that one, and I have a mac. I use a logitec attack 3, 17 on amazon, versus 31 euros for the Saitek on amazon. Quote
stefa.rossi Posted January 19, 2011 Author Report Posted January 19, 2011 I don't know for sure if it does, but on amazon the one I have is much cheaper than that one, and I have a mac. I use a logitec attack 3, 17 on amazon, versus 31 euros for the Saitek on amazon.I took a look at it (in my country, Italy, it costs 22 euros), the only different I can see is that it doesn't have the dual throttle controls the Saitek has; anyway, looking at the photos it seems that the Saitek has a better quality... How do you find yours?Thank you for your suggestions! Quote
UH-60 Blackhawk Posted January 20, 2011 Report Posted January 20, 2011 Not sure if they exist in Italy, but I just went to Best Buy. Couldn't see the dual throttle from pics, though the logitec doesn't have dual throttle. Somebody else can pitch in, but I don't think you can configure both throttles in X-Plane though, so unless you use it for mixture or collective it's useless. Quote
JB_XUSA Posted January 20, 2011 Report Posted January 20, 2011 It should work. Only the saitek panels need plugins etc to work properly because of the displays and the commands that these panels control. Saitek offers a manager for PC but thanks to xplane pref system you don't have to have it on a mac. If it possesses axis's and buttons you should be good. But do double check and look one last time to see if someone else has it on a mac or you could probably contact saitek through their contact on the website. You ought to check ebay or just search saitek flight sim in google for a used joystick eventhough its probably still going to send you to amazon. At the end of the day it still comes down to what you are willing to pay for it. 8) Quote
