BK117 C-1 CN 7007 D-HBUR This aircraft was the 7th machine off the Donauworth production line, and was immediately upgraded to B-1 status and registered as D-HBKI and then D-HXXL (http://forums.x-pilo...hp?topic=2294.0). It has had a chequered history, having been registered since in France and Mexico, before being leased into the SAR market in Italy. It got its unique paint scheme after Glasurit commissioned celebrated German painter/designer Walter Maurer in 2000 to come up with the design it now wears, which he named "Flying Colors." http://www.surfacefi...-Paints-to-0001 Interestingly, 7007 was the C-1 testbed, fitted with the new Turbomeca Arriel-1-E turbine on 6th April 1990, going on to icing tests in Vienna in February/March 1991, and high temperature testing in July 1991, the LBA C-1 Type Certification being awarded on the 20th October 1992. Updated 01Jun11 - added updated interior, bear paws removed. Updated 29Oct11 - corrected an error on the top and bottom edges of the inner fin surfaces. -

BK117 livery CN 7017 COLANI'S SPACESHIP - EXCLUSIVE TO X-PILOT.COM Repaint for Nils Danielsson's excellent payware MBB BK-117. Simply unzip the file "COLANI'S SPACESHIP" into your xplane/aircraft/helicopters/bk117/liveries folder. In the early days of the BK117, MBB contracted well-known designers of the day to create eye-catching designs to highlight and advertise the BK117 at various trade fairs and airshows. In 1986 taking the BK117's sales slogan of Space ship (the ship with roominess), Luigi Colani created his now-famous livery, "Colani's Spaceship," to coincide with Halley's Comet which was visible that year. The aircraft was exhibited at the Farnborough Airshow from 2nd-9th September 1984 in its factory paint, and as Colani's Spaceship from 31st August to 7th September 1986, before the aircraft was sold and the livery lost for good. Of note, before Colani painted it, 7017's first role was as testbed for High Temperature Tests, carried out in Khartoum from May 1st to 12th 1983. -

BK117 livery SCOTRUN BK117 - EXCLUSIVE TO X-PILOT.COM Repaint for Nils Danielsson's excellent payware MBB BK-117. Simply unzip the file "SCOTRUN BK" into your xplane/aircraft/helicopters/bk117/liveries folder. ***Use with Radome model.*** On route 611 in Scotrun, Pennsylvania, there is a roadside takeaway called Eats & Sweets. In the grounds there is a derelict BK117 which has been used as part of a children's swing. Sadly, there is nothing to identify the helicopter but this livery shows how it would have looked from new. Of note is a small decal on its flank "Space Ship BK117." In the mid-80s MBB advertised the BK117 as the "Space Ship," ie the ship with plenty of interior space. Eurocopter inform me that such a decal was not an official item and was likely made by the US dealership in Westchester when the helicopter was sold. -
