  1. Hi-low everybody!

This is probably a coincidence or something not to be overly concerned about but my latest virus scan found some malware in the TBM 900 systems.xpl and "fixed" it.

I have yet to check if the addon is still functioning after this "fix" but dont have time right away.

Is this a common occurrence and is there a logical explanation as to why it thinks it is malware?

    Thanking you kindly

This doesn't happen if you don't move to other apps while the installer is doing its thing.

Outside of that, we have no control of window focus points in this software.

Considering it's been this way now for about eight years, I'd say most don't seem to get confused. :)

WELL I DID! ME ME ME ME ME! lol

Nah it was just an observation no biggie :)

  3. Hello hello hello,

Here is a really small, insignificant but no less mildly annoying little issue I am finding with the updater.

When you update a module, in this case my SR22 G1000, it prompts that it must uninstall before continuing...cool.

However, the uninstall confirmation window is pushed to the back of any other windows you have open meaning it isn't always obvious that you have to click somewhere to proceed which could lead to confusion for people new to the installer.

Anyways, not a big deal at all really but possibly an easy fix for QOL :)

    All the best

If only you knew how many times i have reinstalled XP. I really should take more care of my installation .

You should never really need to reinstall completely. Most of the time just isolating plugins is enough. When you do your clean install this time around, make a copy of the folders somewhere, maybe on an external storage device or something, and if anything goes wrong with a folder just delete it and replace with the clean install version. Saves a whole heap of time

Just to update - on Goran's advice I've created a new XP 11 installation and am testing without scenery, then I'll add a plugin at a time and see how it goes. The key here, is the assistance is first class and very much appreciated, so hopefully will sort this out and get to keep flying the TBM.

So to clarify...on a clean install with no plugins does the TBM crash XPlane?

It is pretty common in the industry to set time restraints for discounts. Discounts are not for us and bring us little to no financial incentive. They are meant to expose the product to more consumers and give the loyal customers a break to show our appreciation. I personally think it is very reasonable to offer a limited discount to propel the product into the community within a certain timeframe. Thank you for your input though.

    Steve

Yes, but, it was a VERY limited time frame which unfortunately found me unprepared.

I do hope you will run further sales offering more loyalty bonus as I do enjoy giving my money to X-aviation

Not sure my wife feels the same...

  7. At some point I would like to own the SR20 along with my SR22 but I was a little disheartened when at release I was offered a time limited discount as a customer of the SR22.

I get the whole time  limited hard sell strategy but, honestly, I am shying away from ever buying the extra aircraft now knowing that my discount has been taken away...

Is there a chance you might review your policy on this point and extend the discount to product owners (indefinitely would be best really)?

    Thank you
