  1. Swiss Mustang  for Skunkcrafts P51

    View File

Swiss Mustang  for Skunkcrafts P51  by Leen "Flybike" de Jager

This is a livery based on the D-FPSI wearing a Swiss dress and registration.
Probably the only P51 with a cut-out-step in the left flap. ( as far as I know)
The internet is full of information about the history of this interesting bird.
To have maximum result installing this livery editing two OBJ files is advised.
Inside the livery there is a text file with simple instructions.
Also is explained how to make the updater not to update the edited OBJ files ( thanks to Yoyoz )

I hope you`ll enjoy flying this livery as much as I enjoyed making it.

  2. Sorry, its a misunderstanding

I was reacting on the quoted part about expecting or not expecting explanations from other moderators and I assumed Tony expected them ( the explanations from other moderators)  here.

It has noting to do with the issue what this thread is about, it was more about expecting moderators explaining their actions on their fora, on other fora,  the moment this came across in this discussion.

  3. 6 hours ago, Tony Moore said:

I'd like to hear from the moderators who banned Hohum, which is not likely.

I agree its not likely to happen.
Do you really like to see moderators from other forums , tellng here of misbehaving visitors on their forum? And explaining why they took action agains certain persons?

Speaking for myself, it will not happen from my side.

  4. Be more modest and do not blame anyone on a forum.

Let alone crying out loud "shame on them"

If this is representative  for your attitude it might be an idea to join another forum or adjust your behave drasticly.

  5. Setting cloud detail at the lowest value.

And the same time using Skymax.

Not much logic in that for me.
Skymax changes the textures for the clouds in  X-Plane , its does NOT actually produces the clouds in XPlane.

So when you choose for low-cloud detail, you get low detailed Skymax clouds, wich are slightly better than the default clouds.

Cannot imagine what `s the fun of that.

  6. Do you really want me to take this post seriously ? I bet not.

This is a forum wich is about a flight-sim ( a flightsim to be taken seriously, though its also on the shelfs in game-shops and it has users below ten years old )

But, as you asked for it.

My kids sometimes exploit their father to make  unreasonable and fatigue-inducing flights.

In the end I send them to bed and have some flight-fun for myself.

I hope this helps with your investigation.

  7. No no, do not misunderstand my words. ( In duglish )

I did not say YOU cropped.

I said the texture IS cropped, by the modeller who made the plane.

    You did an excellent paintjob.

What I ment to say is that, such excellent paintwork should better be spent on models of wich the textures are no so badly mapped.
I really do not acccuse you of  cropping.

The makers of the model are to blaim , IF we want to blaim someone, wich is not my intention.

I started my comment with  "very well done"
Thats  a compliment wich I certainly would not  have given when I knew you were to blaim for the cropping.

    Best regards

    Leen de Jager

Apart from that  I said  cropped I probably shoulds better have said  horizontally compressed texture wich gets stretched on the model.

I wrote  as a matter of fact earlier on this topic    Cropped means in this case horizontally compressed

  8. Cropping tuexture to take advantage of high resolution is a wrong way of thinking.

High resolution is great, but only with undistorted textures..
Going into distortion just to use high resolution is totally going the wrong way.

Better have high quality at low resolution then bad qualty on high resolution.

    I rest my case here.

  9. Cropped means in this case horizontally cormpressed.

You can recognise that when you look at the abnormal narrow windows and doors.

The texture has to stretched to cover the model in the sim.

In other words , if you want to have a circle on the model, you need to draw a n oval on the texture.

  10. Very well done !!

    Nevertheless a question.
Why working ( I alsmost say waisting) superb paintwork on models with such terrible cropped textures ?
All sharp lines and details get fuzzy the moment the texture gets stretched on the aircraft.
Thats the reason why I personally never touch textures wich are cropped, the result on the plane always make me cry.

    Ju-52 Collection : Repaint "Milka" (LDJ_Milka_HB-HOP)

    Dear friends,

Herewith a well-known , or maybe better said a "sweet" livery.

This repaint represents the HB-HOP wich was flown by Ju-Air in Switserland.
They flew liveries for watches, suitcases, beers, sweets and limonade.
Its does not matter how to dress the aircraft as long as it generates funds to fly it , was the philosofy.
Sometimes this results in really weird ( some-people say awfull ) exteriors.

So, like it or dislike it, its a collectors-item anyways.

To fly this livery you must have the Ju-52 Collection, French Marine & HB-HOY installed and you must install this Milka-livery in its liveries-folder.

Download the Ju-52 Collection, French Marine & HB-HOY here:

    http://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?app=downloads&showfile=23954

unzip MILKA.zip to a temp folder and copy the folder named LDJ_Milka_HB-HOP into the liveries -folder

    Enjoy

    AFNavarro & Leen de Jager

PS: Thanks; Paolo, for your complicity on this project.

    Cessna 170 LV-FOB-livery , for C170B by Alcalá Simulación

This great little ( freeware in payware-quality) plane is available for download at
    http://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?app=downloads&showfile=22871

This plane is available for X-Plane 9 and 10.
Make sure to use the latest Version 1.03 !!!

This paint ( and a bit more) is a joint-venture by
Antonio "AFNavarro" and Leen "Flybike" de Jager

This paint made by Leen is based on the basic-paint-kit AFNavarro made for this aircraft.
The custom-normals for this model ( ondulated-skin effect) have been made by the two of us, its hard to tell who placed which pixel, where.
More important is, we are both very happy with the result.

Some OBJ-files were edited by Leen to add some gloss -effects.
For those who like a bit "older" engine-sounds, Leen created some new sound files.

Most important of all a big THANK YOU to

    Alcalá Simulación

    thanks Adrián

Do you want to fly this livery?
Unzip this download LV-FOB-download.zip to a temp folder and read instructions carefully

    Enjoy
