Are you saying that this does not appear in the 2D cockpit for you? (Please note that this button will not appear in the Active Flight Plan Window in the 3D cockpit). Jim

Daniel, Thanks for the nice comments. I'm not sure when the next release (update) will be. I can assure you that if you purchase the plane now you will have no problems updating it when the release is ready

artoor, I know that you can run X-Plane on multiple monitors and you could "stretch" the 2D cockpit across them. However, I don't know of a way to "split" the 2D cockpit and display those individual parts on separate monitors, sorry. I think you are looking for a stand-alone instrument (program) that could be displayed on the monitor of your choice separate from the aircraft. If you had something else in mind please let me know. artoor, I'm unclear as to what you are asking for. Do you want the ability to "display" the PFD or MFD on a second monitor in 2D? Jim

Tom, FTS1000 is a product made by FlyTheSim, which has its own database. The G1000 in the C400 uses the standard X-Plane nav database, which does not include SIDs/STARs. You can simulate a SID or STAR by entering each of the waypoints that are part of the procedure you want to fly. Jim

Tom, There is a ReadyPad located in the 3D cockpit as it is in real life (center console) and it functions the same as it does in the 2D cockpit. Are you asking for a "pop-up" ReadyPad in the 3D cockpit in a different location? --- hi jim, exactly - I know there is a ready pad between the seats - but a floating popup wolud help a lot. other question - I cannot find any entry for SID STAR ARRIVAL in your FTS1000 - or is this not a simulated FTS1000?? is it more the xplane GPS and FMC with an FTS1000 look?? cheers tom --- Tom, I could have a ReadyPad "pop-up" on the 3D instrument panel in the same location as it does in the 2D panel. Dhruv, Thanks for the nice comments. I also enjoy flying this plane more than any other The liveries and tail number are coordinated by the plugin so that when you choose a specific livery the tail number changes in the cockpit. In addition, the DRM (Gizmo) prevents changes to the acf file so there can be no changes to the tail number by the end user. Because of the above, I did not include a paint kit. I will have to think about this some more and consider the consequences (support, etc.) before I make a decision. I hope you continue to enjoy the plane. Jim

This is the proper procedure to enter a waypoint in the FMS: CREATING AN ACTIVE FLIGHT PLAN: 1. Press the FPL Key on the MFD. 2. If you are in 2D Mode – Press the Ready Pad button in the upper right corner of the Active Flight Plan Page to "pop-up" the ReadyPad. 3. Press the INIT Key on the ReadyPad. 4. Press the DIRECT TO (D>) Key on the ReadyPad. 5. The currently selected waypoint will be highlighted in the Active Flight Plan Page. (NOTE: Use the SEL Key to change the selected waypoint if necessary.) 6. Turn the small FMS Knob to the right to display the Waypoint Information Window: 7. Press one of the five "Type"" keys on the ReadyPad to indicate the type of waypoint you want to enter; APT, VOR, L/L, FIX, or NDB: 8. Using the ReadyPad alphanumeric keypad, enter the identifier of the waypoint – when you have completed the entry, the name of the waypoint, its type, and its location information will display. 9. Once you have entered the correct waypoint, press and "hold" the ENT Key on the ReadyPad until the waypoint is accepted. 10. The Waypoint Information Window will close and the waypoint ID will appear in the appropriate field of the Active Flight Plan Page. 11. To enter the next waypoint press the (right arrow) of the SEL Key on the ReadyPad to advance the FMS to the next waypoint and then repeat steps 6 through 10.

scubajaun, Thanks for reporting this. The "type" of knob for the page selector was incorrectly entered and will be fixed in the first update. Jim

scubajuan, You can not enter speeds as that is not a capability of the C400 and there is no autothrottle. You can not enter altitudes as this plane is not WAAS equipped and therefore there is no VNAV capability. I may add the ability to enter altitudes at a later date for reference purposes. I will look in to the large + and - arrows and see what's up. Thanks for the input. Jim.

Jim Hello Jim, and thanks for the quick response. I am still trying without success, 1. Press the FPL Key on the MFD to bring up the Active Flight Plan window. 2. If you are in 2D Mode press the READY PAD Button in the upper right corner of the Active Flight Plan Window to bring up the ReadyPad. 3. Press the INIT Key on the ReadyPad. 4. On the ReadyPad turn the small FMS Knob to the right to bring up the Waypoint Information Window. 5. Using the alphanumeric keys enter the first waypoint (DSD) and press (hold) the ENT Key to accept the entry. 6. Repeat steps 3 and 4 to enter the remaining waypoints; MAVER, BTG, and KPDX. I got the first waypoint in but when I press the INIT key the entry is deleted and can't continue entering the subsequent waypoints. how do I move to the next waypoint? I also noticed that with the FMS NAV/COM knob the exterior knob has 2 + arrows I would expect that the right side brings the big + arrow and the left side a big - arrow, but on the left side i get a big + arrow too. I will let Cameron speak about this further but I believe that with the Gizmo DRM system you can NOT make changes in planemaker. The plugin handles the changes in tail number for the various (over 40) liveries that come with this plane. This includes the tail number as visualized in the 2D and 3D cockpit. Jim

The plane is ready and in the hands of the guys at X-Aviation. There are some programming items they need to finish up. As far as the flight model is concerned the speeds at various altitudes and RPM/MP settings are by the book (Columbia POH), as are the fuel flow numbers. Jim
