  4. State Saving The aircraft autosaves the state, position and trajectory every 20 seconds while in flight or upon entering a runway, and on approach passing 1000 feet above airport elevation. Additionally you can manually save a state and name it. In the unlikely event of a crash you can resume your flight from where you left off by reloading the aircraft and ensuring the “Restore Position and Trajectory” checkbox is selected. State Tracking In most simulated aircraft there are no consequences for leaving a battery on or quitting the sim without a proper shut down. You may be unhappy to discover the state of your aircraft if you do this. Like the TBM, the aircraft tracks its own state and if you fail to shut down the aircraft properly your batteries will be discharging while you are away. Reloading States The aircraft state can be reloaded, optionally with the saved position and trajectory. This allows states such as "Ready to taxi" to be created at one particular airport, then at a later time load the aircraft to a spot at another airport and reload the state without using the saved position. This is a quick way to create scenarios like "Ready for takeoff". Note that when a state is reloaded, the simulation time is not automatically set, so if you are resuming in-flight it will be necessary to set the sim time correctly after loading the state. This may cause a momentary loss of GPS position.

  5. Good Afternoon everyone! I purchased and have spent several hours with trying to understand everything this incredible plane has to offer. Really great Job to all involved! I'm sure it will just get better with some tweaks here and there. I must say that without having a good Flight Sim Background I would of been at a total loss on how to get around this Plane. A proper tutorial manual like that of the TBM would of been of great help. I am anxiously awaiting Grame from Reflected Reality Simulations on YouTube to pump out his great videos. I learned the TBM and IXEG from studying his Videos. After several YouTube Videos I am now quite comfortable in navigating my way around with the Startup, Planning, TO and Landing. I did my first complete flight just last night and am getting more comfortable as I go along. For the Newbies I would suggest looking at YouTube for various long time flight simmers that stream. Although many don't do everything right or address everything, I have learned from something from almost all I have watched thus far. Kudos to the development team! I am enjoying my purchase as I have from all the purchases X-aviation.

  7. Quick mod of the Q4xp pilot mod for external views thats available on the org that will gives us pilots in the external view of the 650. Follow the instructions in the mod with the exception of the positions listed below. Use these positions instead and all of a sudden you will have pilots in your Challenger not a drone. External screenshots are massively lacking with a vacant cockpit this fixes that. The original mod https://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?/files/file/76400-3d-pilots-mod-flyjsim-q4xp/ 650 position data Challenger positions. 00964 00000 00015 Aircraft reference 1800 inside All views No prefill No more empty cockpits.

  8. I received several reports from FSEconomy users, complaining about flight cancellations due to airborne refueling. Maybe @skiselkov could shed some light on how the fuel-related data refs are used. When starting a flight, the FSEconomy client attempts to set the fuel ordered in FSEconomy by writing the fuel weight split out among the tanks to sim/flightmodel/weight/m_fuel. Thereafter, the FSEconomy client monitors sim/flightmodel/weight/m_fuel_total, expecting it to be equal to or less than what it was during the last check. If it's found to be more than it was on the last check, it will cancel the flight with the "detected airborne refueling" message. So would be great to know if there are situations where sim/flightmodel/weight/m_fuel_total can increase in flight with the Challenger.

  9. The Challenger 650 does not have FADEC, but there are engine controls and mechanical systems in place that affect how your lever position controls the engine. The most common issue seen reported with the simulation is the engines are not making "full power", or rather not achieving the rating on the N1 EICAS display. The reason for this is the engine has an N2 limit which varies based on total air temperature, which depends on aircraft speed and temperature. The TAT is shown on the PFD left side datablock, Don't climb at too low an indicated airspeed or mach, and keep an eye on the TAT. This chart shows what's going on, and will also included in the Operations Reference Document when possible. Keep i mind the chart shows Corrected N2, but gives you an idea of what is actually going on.

  12. Ok guys, possibly we have temporarily happy days until this issue has been fixed. I would like to draw your attention on this post here: Type Rating issue on Hot Start Challenger 650 | Air Hauler 2 Forums (justflight.com) as you can see, those who use FlyWithLua have an edge here and can use the plane and AH2 together until this issue has been fixed by HotStart. I would recommend to go through the whole topic of appr. 35 posts but well, the lua script is what you need. Working on 2 ends on this problem tells me one thing: this community is really awesome. People from everywhere around the globe face a problem and their only intention is to work together and overcome or at least temporarily solve this problem. That's why I'm so proud of being part in this community. Keep it up.

  15. Thanks for the spot - I've just included some fixes for those in my config file. I'll send it over to Goran. I'm not going to share my updated version at the moment as it relies on changes to the OBJ file and I don't want to redistribute any of HS's assets, and I hear update 1 is just around the corner - so let's wait until that is released, and then if necessary I'll post the latest VRConfig file.

  18. Hello, I’m new to the forum. I’m flying the Hot Start Challenger 650, changing the registration is ok but making liveries is beyond me, would anyone care to create this livery for the CL650? it would be very much appreciated! Thanks a lot

  19. Hi, thank you for your feedback. Now I'm able to show the HUD correctly (even though with Visual Effects at Medium settings, no HDR). Below is what I did, however I don't know if it was the root cause, but it works. delete Output/preferences folder, to get x-plane default settings, and build my settings again from the beginning delete Output/shadercache folder, to make x-plane compiles the cache again My latest graphics settings with the working HUD. 20. As far as the checklist goes, there are several items that are indicated by a "sun" symbol. Meaning they are only performed on the first flight of the day, just skip right over them. It doesn't add any significant amount of time, and it's likely the same process in real life.

  21. Also, actually, the reason for the reject flight plan will likely be written to the Log.txt (might be easier to look at X-Plane/Output/CL650/CL650_Log.txt so you don't get generic X-Plane messages not related to the Challenger). Regards, Tim

Fictional repaint based on N82EM Bombardier Global XRS owned by American billionaire Jared Isaacman, painted in a distinctive "Time Flies" paint scheme. Slight artistic licence taken by swapping registration and "Tempus Fugit" locations to suit the Challenger's size a little better.

  25. We're going to research the amount of wing flex before adding it, if there is any.
    1 point
  26. Hello, The angles of the screenshots and photos are definitely playing tricks on you. The "flex" you are seeing in the first screenshot is heavily aided by the change of angle in the wing's leading edge as well as the low angle of the photo. You cannot directly compare the winglet position from the ground photos taken at around 0° camera angle vs 30-40° camera angle in the airborne photo. Lastly, as Cameron stated, a test was done on a real Challenger 650 which provided no flex. It's a stiff wing! Simmers love their wing flex for some reason but it's just not realistic in this case. 27. Zero tests. The aircraft is completely cold & dark, no de-icing required. I am using the FBO fueling process, it's actually faster than the manual process because it's synchronous. I put on ~ 3000 lbs. of fuel and gave myself 5 minutes on "when are you leaving" phase of the FBO experience. The IRS alignment process is 6-minutes, so that's about as fast as you'll ever go through a legitimate take off sequence. In my case, I was 100% ready to go at 6-minutes. Like engines running, door closed, passengers seated. Truthfully, a normal flow for me is 12 to 15 minutes. But I tried a "speed run" to see how fast I could theoretically get off the ground.

  28. You could be a little more appreciative of the time @Graeme_77 has put forward to try and help you learn this product...free of charge on his behalf. There is not likely to be something like an FCOM found with a real aircraft. Bombardier owns this material and sells it for thousands of dollars, or included with a $30 million purchase. We are not authorized to re-distribute this at all. It's 7,000 pages too, by the way. Along with @Graeme_77, there is also several video series of operating the aircraft complete with explanations by @skiselkov. Most customers have taken to this to learn the product and get along quite well. I do not expect anyone to understand everything here in a day, but exploring and learning through watching the series is rewarding. This is the answer we are able to give you now. Your impatience is evident, so there's your "right now" answer. I have never once looked through any manual for any car I have bought. This is probably not a great example. Ironically for things like this I'd default to YouTube, of which there's also a ton of livestream content to soak in as well for the 650. @Graeme_77 is a volunteer of his time. Please be respectful of his willingness to assist you considering he is not officially a Hot Start developer. He's an extremely knowledgable, kind person who is trying to help you and was gracious enough to help beta test this product before it went to market. He receives no money from this product. There's enough info in this thread to lock it for the time being. Please, use the free training videos out there at your leisure and learn best you can. If you are unable to make sense of something, post here and any of us will be happy to further explain things to you short of sending you thousands of dollars worth of copyrighted Bombardier manuals.

  33. It's being investigated with the help of the project consultant pilots. If the FMS should show VFR only airports, then I'm sure a solution will be possible. The concern is having a total worldwide set of every little airfield could be less useful, as real aircraft databases are often a smaller subset of the full thing to minimise "clutter".

  35. Arguably you could/should be asked to file your flight plan without TCAS in your equipment code, but disconnecting because you do not support TCAS is not exactly a good solution. Were I you, I would complain to VATSIM about this controller.
