  1. Tom and Cameron are working as quick as they can to get all the final cross checks done on installer and package sanity. Shouldn't be too much longer. Thanks for your patience and excitement.

  6. I was always wondering why do people stay overnight in front of apple stores to get a lazy phone on release day. And now I am doing the same for this plane. At least i can wait at home and dont need to buy camping equipment. :-)

  7. I have a hard copy and a digital copy of the 737 and 757. They are great books and the author is a great guy too. He will reply to emails and if you buy the book from him he will autograph it for you. They have digital versions that work great on an ipad. Mike Ray the author is a retired United Captain. http://www.utem.com/shop/index.php?l=product_list&c=5

  8. My congratulations to the whole team on the conclusion of a truly epic journey. I remember when in April 2011, the whole IXEG team was in Frankfurt to fly the Lufthansa Full Flight Sim and they came over for dinner afterwards. Jörg (of vasFMC fame) and me treated the IXEG team to german bread and sausages, french cheese and asparagus salad. It was an unforgettable dinner full of tech and plane talk, and of course bragging about what our add-ons can do. That was roughly one month before the CRJ first came out. At that dinner table, they projected the IXEG 737 to be released "soon after the CRJ". Little did they know what lay ahead of them. So here we are, five years later, finally about to put the chocks under the wheels after an epic long-haul flight. Well done, guys, and congratulations on pulling this off. Philipp

  11. Captains, After six years of development the IXEG 737 Classic has been cleared to land! We're officially announcing Saturday, April 23, 2016 as the release date. Thanks to @froogle for also visiting the office to share his enthusiasm of the product and putting a mix on our traditional way of announcing releases! You're awesome, dude! There's been a lot of discussion over the last few years showcasing what to expect from this product, so we won't go too far into that, but I would like to provide a little bit more information for you... Release time: When we make announcements like this we make every attempt to get the product out close to midnight time the day of release. This means for some it may be Friday night if you are located in the USA. I cannot provide an exact time, but I would anticipate a release window between 12am-2am EST. Pricing: We will be announcing price (as we always do) once the product page is up and running. More details about the product as a whole will be there too. Liveries: There will be 20 liveries included upon release. They are: Air Berlin Air France Air Italy America West British Airways Condor Delta Retro Iberia IXEG Jet2 Linjeflyg Lufthansa Lufthansa Retro Norwegian SAS Southwest New Transaero United (tulip) US Air Varig We will be including a paint kit at release time. I want to caution people about attempting to make this thread about livery requests. Within a very short period of time I can promise you will see many free liveries out there on the various download libraries, so don't panic if you're initial request is not present in the above list! Manuals: The package will come with quite a bit of documentation, but we don't want this aircraft to be intimidating. Yes, it's definitely a study level simulation, but the included tutorials come in PDF and video form. While there's a lot to learn, we've made it as interactive and fun as possible for you. Reading big FCOMs can get rather boring to a lot of people, so we hope you enjoy this! We also recommend Mike Rays 737 handbook as a compliment to this product. His book is excellent and works quite nicely as a follow along guide for this product! Server load: I have noted a number of folks concerned about whether we can handle the initial demand. At X-Aviation, we have had some rather big releases in recent time and come to know what to expect pretty well with releases like this. The IXEG 737 release will be no different, and the installer will detect your location and balance the server loads appropriately. We anticipate a very smooth (and fast) experience for our customers. A lot of time is invested from our side to ensure you have a good experience with this! More than anything, and on behalf of @tkyler, @Litjan, @Morten, @Nils, @Ben Russell and myself, we want to say thank you for your continued interest, support, and motivation to keep going on this journey. It's been a long time coming, and our excitement is at an all-time high this week. None of this would be possible with you guys, our fans. Now, plan your routes, sit back, and light up those X-Plane skies with the 737 Classic this weekend! We know you guys will do us proud...you always do! Cheers! Cameron Where is all began years ago...

  25. I have updated the list in post no. 1 of this thread to todays status. While mostly removing things, I had to add that the PROGRESS page didn´t quite make it into 1.0. I also considered adding: a totally bug-free experience with no soft-crashes as something that will NOT be in 1.0. While we worked hard to find as many faults as possible, we are fully prepared to receive a flurry of reports (both real and due to lack of understanding) over the next few days. We will be hear to listen, help, catalogue and fix them - and it is our goal to get an update to fix any critical problems to you VERY swiftly. Happy landings, everyone, Jan

This is the older Southwest Airlines paint for the IXEG 737-300. The real aircraft does have winglets, and they are painted. Let me know if you see anything wrong and i will try and fix it! Like me on Facebook for updates, make requests, WIP, etc! https://www.facebook.com/cessnaroxliveries

  36. Brave to go for all those curves without having the object to check they work! The 737 handbook is great if you want to know EVERY TINY DETAIL of the real 737, plus how you'd fly it for a type rating. lots of common emergency talk (e.g. V1 cuts) and flow explanations, with nice diagrams to help. Take a look at the pictures on this store for an idea.

  44. Not questioning your expertise, @Ben Russell, but I believe aircraft and scenery packages sold elsewhere, that use your own plugin (Gizmo), as well as others like GroundTraffic and AutoGate have the plugins in question built into the package, such as FlightFactor's planes and MisterX6's scenery packages. Can't the 737 Classic do this as well? Once again, one of X-Plane's strengths is its portability, and the self-contained nature of add-ons, but installers tend to muck up that self-contained nature by putting files all over the place, where they cannot be traced by the average user in case of a problem. Not to mention logging with the Windows registry, something that X-Plane's developers pride themselves on not doing. As for this - I have neither the expertise nor the entrepreneurship to start my own venture; I have also nothing to gain by 'proving anyone wrong'. I was simply pointing out that a compressed archive would make life easier for all - even the distributors, as they need not create an installer, but simply zip up the files once development is done, and upload them to the servers.

This is detailed scenery for Dallas Love Field KDAL. Dallas Love Field (IATA: DAL, ICAO: KDAL) is a city-owned public airport 6 miles (10 km) northwest of downtown Dallas, Texas. It was Dallas' main airport until 1974 when Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) opened. The corporate headquarters for Southwest Airlines is located at Love Field. The airport is also a focus city for Southwest as well as for Virgin America and Delta Airlines. Seven full service fixed base operators (FBOs) provide general aviation service: fuel, maintenance, hangar rentals, and charters. A special thanks to Tom aka tsw66. He should be considered a coauthor and deserves a ton of credit for helping me complete this project. Also as always thanks to Justin aka MisterX. X-plane is a better place due to his work. Please read included readme file.
