Take Command! CRJ-200 Version 1.3 Update Released!

The first idea was to simulate the glow in the text backlight. I couldn't because there was not enough channels to make 2 LIT textures. If in the future the internal lights cast shadows.. then I will be able to put glow in backlight text. But I would say that is already possible.. if Ben would include a new shader in future.

You'll have no issues at all with your license for a dual install. :)

As Javier has stated, you'll need to install two times to ensure ALL of the files make it into the right place for each version. Also be sure to select X-Plane 9 or X-Plane 10 when it asks you which version of X-Plane! Very important!

Please don't hesitate to get back to us if you have any issues. We're here to help!

Ok, thanks for the info!

You need to fully extract the files to a folder anywhere on your computer and THEN run the installer.

I installed and successfully ran the CRJ version 1.3 on Xplane 9.7. Today I installed Xplane 10 using the installer obtained from the Xplane web site, then I updated to the latest beta using the updater also obtained from the website. Xplane 10 runs fine. I then installed CRJ version 1.3 with the Xplane 10 option, but when I select the CRJ, it crashes Xplane 10.

I'm using Ubuntu 11.10 with the latest updates. Attached is the log file.

Cameron,

That fellow states that both his Xplane 9 and 10 versions of CRJ 1.3 failed to work. My version Xplane 9 works.

I made sure that IPv6 is enabled AUTOMATIC in the network system settings, then installed miredo through the Ubuntu Software Center, rebooted, tested online to see if IPv6 was connected, and got the reply "No IPv6 address detected". Just to make sure, I tried to load CRJ 1.3 in Xplane 10 and again it crashed.

No joy.

Hi, Bill,

Hopefully Philipp will have better answers to this one. Linux is just so finicky in the sense that in terms of "stability" it's not very good. Linux itself is great, but so many variants of Linux exists, and not everyone has the same items installed, so it makes it tough.

X-Plane 9 and 10 version are the same plugin-wise. Only the 3d model is different. So if your CRJ in X-Plane 9 works, the plugin in 10 must work also. Because it's exactly the same code. My best guess is that something went wrong during installation. Could you please post your Log.txt from both X-Plane 9 and 10 here. Both after you tried to load the CRJ of course!

Philipp,

My Xplane10 log.txt file is attached to my original post above. Unfortunately, the only things I saved from my Xplane 9 were the airplanes and the custom scenery. I deleted the rest, including the log.txt file.

The last entry on my log.txt file for Xplane10 is:

Loaded: /home/bill/X-Plane 10/Aircraft/X-Aviation/CRJ-200/plugins/CRJAvionics/lin.xpl.

Personally I think it is a stupid idea to delete X-Plane 9 so early in the 10 beta phase. Because X-Plane 10 is to stay a moving target for add-ons for quite some time still.

But for your problem, please post a gdb stacktrace of the crash. How you do this, is explained in detail here: http://forums.x-plan...showtopic=29916 except that you of course don't send the report to Laminar, but post it here for me.

Philipp,

The reason I removed Xplane9 after flying Xplane10 was to free disc space, knowing I can reinstall Xplane9 if necessary. You should probably be more careful about using the word "stupid" with your customers. It may not apply and they certainly won't appreciate it.

I don't think Philipp was calling you or your unknown decision stupid, Bill. He was clear that it was his personal choice and was sharing why he doesn't do it. What you do on your own is your own prerogative. Perhaps, though, after hearing why someone so intwined with X-Plane as Philipp is not deleting XP 9 you'll follow suit or agree.

Obviously circumstances are different for each person. Hard Drive space is your reason...so be it!

Bill, sorry if you feel offended by my wording. Keep in mind I'm not a native speaker and tend to translate a certaiin German "directness" verbatim into english ;)

As for your problem, the crash log definitely points to IPv6 being unavailable.

Re-download the CRJ from your X-Aviation account. There you get the updated 1.3.1 plugin, which will also work in an IPv4 single-stack setup.

Philipp,

Thank you. I'll do that. I'm wondering if the inability to get IPv6 has to do with my internet provider.
